Cannot update "Full Legal Name"

Hello, after many attempts to update/edit the "legal shop information" details without success, every time I try to edit the details and to  save it, the details are not saved and there is not even an error message. I tried other browsers

I tried another computer

I tried from the mobile phone

I tried deleting history and cookies

I tried to delete the %APPDATA% folder

I tried from a different IP address

Nothin helps to fix this problem .

I will need your help please , its happend to someone befor ?

It can't be changed.  Etsy has never allowed seller accounts to be transferred or sold.  To that end, they don't allow the original name to change.  Sorry.  If you made a mistake, you'll have to open a new shop.  Remember all credentials: bank account, credit card, photo ID - has to name match.

But Etsy send me a mail and told me to change it , they even send me the way to change it but it's just not work. Are you sure about what you say ?

Reply to the email Etsy sent to you (don't send a new one) and tell them you are having problems.

I was able to change my "full legal name" for the Plaid verification. However, I was only adding something that matched the ID etsy already had on file. It was not a new last name, for instance. 

Does your dashboard have a warning message this needs to be done?

If you are making a change that does not 'match' what etsy already has on file, you may need to update what they have first, and I would contact etsy directly for help with this, not through the email, but submit a help request and keep moving up the canned responses until you get a real person.

Hi thanks for your comment , I do not get an error message that I am trying to change. I just like you, just need to change the order of the letters that will match the government document. I do not know what the settings that Etsy hold but I believe it is really something they can only fix from their side, the problem that have been several days and have not yet returned to me

I've also same problem about the changing the LEGAL ENTITY NAME for my shop.

We got a company and selling from there after all, however I can't update the LEGAL ENTITY NAME.

I've reached out the "ETSY HELP" team but they are just like a bot replying me. 

I've showed the problem as screenshots, but nothing changed. 

Due to not changing the Entity name, ETSY does not accept my bank documentation to re-active my shop. 

I'm stuck, hope someone will see the problems and help us

Hi, I am having the same problem too. 

I have recently acquired a business (and its Etsy store) and need to amend the legal entity name to that of my company.  I also need to update the VAT number but nothing seems to work and the details do not save.

I have sent several support requests to Etsy but they don't seem to understand the issue I am experiencing.

Has anyone heard back from Etsy with a resolution?

same issue here.  Etsy converting my legal entity name to my personal name and then telling me they cannot verify. i am at a loss.  Email to them is a bot response.

I'm having this trouble right now and tried to contact Etsy support, but their reply are so repetitive and very not helpful T^T

@Jayohdotp    This is an old thread and it would be best to start your own with what you are experiencing so we fellow sellers may be able to help you.

Is this a GST issue?  Is this a name on shop versus name on bank account?  Forms of names need to match.
