Cannot Save Draft, Preview or Publish my Digital Download listing

Just created a Digital Download listing for a Watercolor print but cannot Save, Preview or Publish it due to an "INVENTORY" error message. 

History:

• Started the listing by making a copy of my original watercolor art print listing  
• Changed it to the Digital Download Option.
• Height and Width field: I checked the box that I "offer more than one"
• Inventory field:  Tried entering  numbers from 1 to 999 but still got INVENTORY error message
• Uploaded both files for downloading,
• Every time I click either  Publish, Save as Draft or Preview, I get 2 error messages
  
  • Top of page: "Fill out all the required fields correctly before being able to save"  and
  • Bottom of page: "To Publish fix INVENTORY".  
  • I've tried numbers from 1 to 999 but the ERROR still remains.

Tried the online Chat but the agent  knew absolutely nothing about Etsy and kept either guessing,  sending me  articles I've already read or offering conflicting instructions then denying what they previously said.  Had to copy & paste to remind them. In the end, they refused to escalate the chat. To say It was painfully frustrating is an under statement. NEVER will try that again.

I'm humbling asking for any real help possible because I don't want to lose all the work I've already invested.  I could be wrong, but without saving a draft, the only way to really save it is  to leave that page open until I get this resolved. So be it!

I know this may sound silly but have you tried just clicking the button again? I ask because I have a red banner on top with a sad face and 'Fill out all of the required fields correctly in order to preview or save.' every single time I publish a listing. Like every time and it's been going on for a couple of years now. I just ignore it and click the publish button again and it posts. Etsy support hasn't been able to fix it or even have any idea why it's happening.  Oh and yes, live chat can be extremely frustrating to deal with especially when you know more about how things work than the call center person you are chatting with.

Also, since you checked you offer more than one for height and width is it possibly a variation issue? Can you even offer more than one on a digital download? I don't think you can add a variation for a digital download right? If not then that offer more than one bit on height and width may be the issue.

Twice, then multiple times.  Nothing changed.

So did you try unchecking the you offer more than one option? That is for variations and digital downloads can't have variations. It's part of inventory since that checkbox indicates that the listing will have variations or options which can have different quantity (inventory).

This^^, when you click more than one, it defaults to trying to put in variations, which you can't do on a digital listing, so it's erroring out.

Interesting. So if you’re offering both an 8x10 and 11x14 how do you answer that question?

You don't.

You put in your description that you offer more than 1 file.

All files you upload are available to the buyer, they can't pick a size on a digital listing.

And yes, variations are part of the "inventory".

If you know a solution, that’s a blessing, but I’d greatly appreciate if people didn’t just keep guessing.  It gets my hopes up for a possible solution, then I waste time stopping what I’m doing to reach this forum, and It’s back and forth, back and forth!

 Still no solution.

That's all we can do is guess based on the information provided. It's just us sellers here trying our best to help each other. None of us work for Etsy as this is a peer to peer support forum.

Apologies! Guess I’m expecting too much!

Wish there was a way to reach someone at Etsy who knew what the Error Messages actually meant or How to list digital downloads with multiple files.  If life were perfect they’d have real technical support

Most of the time us sellers are the fastest technical support here in the forums. You can reach Etsy support from your shop manager (shop manager > community and help > contact us) but choose the email option vs live chat or a call back as those folks are just a call center. Email will get you to actual Etsy but it may be bot replies initially and can take weeks sometimes to get a real person to reply.

Until then you can try the suggestions made here which will be much faster and possibly solve your problem. As mentioned above you can't set up variations for a digital download so the checkbox of offering more than one size is likely the cause of the error. @CappuccinoLace explained how to list it and where to put the info about the sizes offered (in the description). 

Or email Etsy and wait for a reply. Good luck in whichever you choose.
