Can you receive email messages while in vacation mode?

I've searched the forums for an answer but can't seem to find it.

People can still send you messages when your shop is on vacation. When you setup vacation mode, you can add an auto-reply message so customers get a fast reply while you are away. I usually have a note about how long my shop will be off, when I will officially respond, & some FAQ.

Yes, you can receive Etsy messages whilst a shop is in vacation mode. Your message inbox is connected to your personal Etsy account - the shop is like an add on, but the messages all go to one inbox. You can have an Etsy account with or without a shop.
