Can't use the new updated form - is anybody else having issuesCORE DETAILS - Wont' accept CATEGORY

Hi - anybody out there who's also having trouble with the new listing form?  I just sat here for 2 hours trying to get one item listed. Still can't get it listed.   Everything is fine until I choose category.   It absolutely will not take it.  I will type in name of item and drop down for category - then it goes BLANK and says that I need to add category.  It won't take any categories at all.   Please help if you know how to fix - I just reported it to the technical team.

Hi Judy, I've Bookmarked this Thread. And hope that Seller Adorabilities Tip will be helpful to you. Also, in case you are using the App, try a browser instead. It really bothers me that Sellers are still having issues with the New Listing Form. It's unheard of that a Listing Form prevents Sellers from listing, on any site. And you surely can't sell that which you cannot list. I really hope this helps.

I have been having the same problem! I just spend 20 minutes trying to get it to accept the category. I'm just tired of dealing with and am not going to do anymore listing until Etsy gets this resolved.

Put in the category that you want.  It should list all applicable and then choose which one.

If you are using the app, try a browser instead. 

I have no problem with category even if I do a listing is a new area I;ve never listed in before.  Etsy may not consider a few people having the issue as a problem.

This is November and they still havent' fixed it!  So frustrating and waste of time.  If they want us to select "category" first - then they need to put that in the first thing that needs to be typed instead of making us spend the time to list, tag, photo's - only go tell us "fix core category"

I have had this problem since the first day the listing form came out.  In my case, I want to edit an active listing, and when I go to publish the changes, it tells me that I need to fix the core details under Craft Type.  All of the core details are there and the craft type is there, but the system says they are incomplete and won't let me publish the edited listing.  It's very frustrating.

Simply fill in the core details again and it should publish.  If these are older listings the core details may not be completely filled in.  Core details are new.

Thanks for the suggestion JDTotes.  I've done that, all is complete, and the edited listings still won't re-publish.

The new form is a nightmare.  They need to fix their core details CATEGORY issues!!!  They have been made aware of it but same old thing   so frustrating!  It doesn't like any categories even if you type in manually - won't even save it so all that time wasted.

I usually can find an existing listing to copy that already have most of the core details in place. Every once in a while I have to deal with the issues.

@JudysDollClothesShop:  i'm not sure how to "fix" the listing page, but a work-around that is working for me is to locate the category FRST, and then work backwards.  here is the list of all the categories:

on etsy, it seems you need to know where you are going to end up, before you can figure out where to start.

This has been an issue for long time!  So frustrating to try and list only for Etsy not to accept "CHOOSE CATEGORY"  You can't even save the listing.  They have been aware of it for a long time yet they are unable to fix it.  Sometimes it is intermittent but some days, it's non-stop   So frustrating

I have another shop where Etsy regularly dumps most of my listings into another category.  I don't know why this happens.  I change them all back to the correct category which takes a lot of time.  Two weeks later all the listings are back in to random categories and Etsy is flagging me big time that xxxx listings are in the wrong category and it is affecting my visibility.  I'm getting bored with it.  I've been here 10+ years and I'm making enough to buy a pint of milk at the moment, whereas I was making a bit of extra cash.
