Can't upload drivers license photo

I have photographed my drivers license about ten times, and Etsy won't accept it, somehow. Nothing happens. What should I do/who do I talk to?

Are you saying the upload does not complete?  Or is Etsy refusing your ID?

Reading that they dont seem to state file format etc. Make sure your photo or scan is clear though.

How are you trying to download? Taking an actual photo and saving to file? Using a scanner and saving to file? You can download a free scanner app for your phone and do it that way. Make sure you are using the format they want..jpeg? PDF? Is there a size requirement?

@exquisitelapel  Did Etsy send you an email?  Why were you photographing it 10 times. Is it blurry or dark? Is there a hologram on it? See if you can request a call back from Etsy through your shop manager dashboard > Help > Contact Us >Selling on Etsy.  There's other complaints about this

Just had this same issue - you'd think that they'd actually want a scan...sigh. I had to actually  take a photo, and it's not easy to get the camera TOTALLY parallel to the ID card. Also VERY important to have a background that will show all 4 corners of the ID card. When you get it right the "submit" button will allow you to click it. Honestly, I verified myself like 10 years ago and nothing has changed. Sheesh!

Here's the tips from the email they sent:

• We suggest placing your ID on a plain dark surface. This will help ensure there is a contrast between your ID and the background.
• Be sure you are in a well lit room and all information on your ID is legible. We require all 4 corners of your ID to be visible in the image capture.
• We ask that you avoid glare on the image. We will be unable to confirm your information if we are unable to clearly see your document.
• Avoid skewing your image. We ask that you capture your image from a 180° angle.

"...I verified myself like 10 years ago and nothing has changed." With the ever changing laws I think that we sellers need to prepare ourselves for ever more often and more in-depth reverifications.

And the good news is that once you get the silly thing to submit verification is close to instantaneous.

For the first time the upload id page gave me the drop downs where you pick your country and type of id. Some people have mentioned those things, but going to the page on the web and the app to upload my drivers license maybe 6 times, it has never given me those options until tonight. Just a button to choose file and upload. But this time it did and I got a you're verified email in like 30 seconds. And my shop is back open.

Thank you for all the replies. I finally was able to figure it out. The photo you take or upload from your library will not appear in the little box, but will show up as a document. Once you have one (and only one, despite the invitation to submit up to 7) document, click submit. That's it.
