I recently re-opened my etsy shop after a long break. I have some old text relating to old delivery and payment policies on the front page of my shop which i can't edit. Etsy support are being useless and just keep directing me to the returns policy page, which doesn't let me edit this text. Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of it? I've been through all my shop settings, policies etc and can't find the text anywhere to edit.
To view the text please visit my shop and scroll down to the bottom
Thank you
@Amaradorn Thanks so much for mentioning about using the old Etsy app to update old, grandfathered policies - it does work!!
It's a little non-intuitive but not too difficult -- just go into Shop Settings and scroll down to the old policies. To edit, click on the little tiny right-pointing arrows at the right edge next to the section you want to change -- you'll go to another page with just that section. Just click and start editing, then SAVE at the top of the screen. Although the policy update took effect immediately when I looked at my shop in the app, it only showed on my laptop's shop home page several minutes later.
Since Etsy will be getting rid of the old app sometime (when?!?), it's probably a good idea to take a good hard look at your old policies to see if they'll stand the test of time moving forward. I realize there's quite a lot of details I can take out of policies and just move to FAQs, which hopefully will remain editable.
@PieceByNumberQuilts I managed to change mine too by reinstalling to old app on my tablet. I didn't think the old app was still available but it is (for now). I noticed that some of the old policy sections which I tried editing actually disappeared when I saved it, but that's okay. I'd rather not have them at all than have out dated info that I can't change in the future.
Go to the front of your shop not under manage, at the bottom left corner of your shop banner area there is a link to edit. I know why would they have it there.....?
In the process of requiring a standardized return policy for all shops, even shops with grandfathered policies in place, etsy has left individual grandfathered policies locked for editing on desktop computer and the new selling app.
There are a couple very long threads from the last week of October with a lot of helpful information, tips, and details about this. I recommend you read them before going forward with any changes that will most likely remove the rest of your policies and leave you with the "canned" policies only.
I can't edit mine either. I tried what @TheRustyNailPail suggested but that just took me to the new policy options with no way to edit my actual custom text. I did hear that you can edit it using the old Sell on Etsy app, but I don't have that as it stopped working on my old phone.
I don't even know why anyone even bothers with policies anymore.
From what I've read here, no matter what the issue is, Etsy is just going to give the buyer their money back and let them keep the goods.

@Amaradorn @PieceByNumberQuilts you are geniuses. I have completely removed the old policies which contradicted what I offer now. I installed the old app on my tablet and clicked on each policy and there was the edit and save option. Thankyou so much
@AmyBrownCountryArt Glad to be of help, but I never would have thought of trying the app without Amaradorn's post!
Added some brief instructions because I'm pretty sure other sellers have this same problem, and am glad to see Etsy mods didn't shut down the thread as being "too old".
