I have tried in both Chrome and Edge browsers on my desktop and am unable to open my Shop Manager. It says "Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit." Is this an Esty bug or a internet problem?
Try clearing cache as stated above or restart your computer.
Both browsers should work. Try clearing your cache files.

That works for me - but then the same problem happens again and I have to keep clearing cache and rebooting while I'm trying to list items.
Do you know of any other solution?
Clearing the cache didn't work, I'll try restarting again.
Neither worked
Make sure you are using updated browser versions.
I'm having the same issue with Microsoft Edge connecting to Etsy shop manager.
Where do I look to see if I'm using the most updated brower version?
Everything is up to date in both browsers
I’ve been having the same problem for a few days now - I clear cookies but then it starts all over again and only on Etsy
Try clearing "all data." I have so many files and windows open on my computer I think it was just bogged down.
I'm having the same issue and only with Etsy shop manager.
Did you ever find a solution?
OKAY!! I didn't select "all data" to be cleared when clearing my cache. So, after I did that, problem is solved. Thank you all for helping. Much appreciated.
Repat again. I've go the same problem. I cleared my browsing data in Chrome for the past 4 weeks and that didn't help. Should I clear "cookies and other site data"?
Same problem sporadically over the last few days. Both in Google & Chrome. I had this happen a few months ago as well. Will have my son take a look at it, he's more techy than me. Only on Etsy, all else is fine. I wonder if it has anything to do with playing the team games on here -ie: hearts etc.?
I'm having exactly the same issue on Microsoft Edge.
Did you ever find a solution?
I'm having the exact same problem. If I clear cache and reboot it works - but then a little while later same problem.

I also continue to have this issue, even after clearing all data. It really interrupts work flow!
Etsy Please Fix. I can't even share one of my shop items to tweet. Keeps going on/off
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
One of the most common causes of "size of a request header field exceeds server limit" is too many cookies being sent in the header - and Etsy leaves lots of them. The problem may be intermittent as cookies are deleted or expire. Clearing cache will not help in this case but deleting some Etsy cookies might, just don't delete login cookie(s). This can be particularly noticeable if you log in and out of multiple shops using the same browser.
Etsy customer service told me to make sure my computer accepted all Etsy cookies.
I have no clue how to make sure that is happening and they didn't answer me when I asked.
Do you know how to check that?
This is ONGOING.....still happening to me today. It's been reported on the Down Detector site as well, going back at LEAST 3 wks!! Doesn't matter what browser you use & clearing cache/cookies as well as re-starting the computer only works temporarily. This is absolutely ridiculous that so many of us are experiencing this. My sales are in the tank & no wonder.......cannot get on the site long enough to actually do anything!!!! GRRRRR
Here's another reason I do NOT believe this isn't a glitch/issue on Etsy's side vs something on OUR side: The error msg. comes up randomly throughout the day. If we have cleared cache, etc. and everything seems "fixed", and get back to working on the site, why would that error msg. keep popping up? I'll admit I don't understand cookies but if Etsy was working for me last night & then I get up this morning to the server error, I'm clueless.
