Hi, Newby to Etsy here and I've just made my first sale. I've received an email saying I need to complete transaction. When I click the complete transaction button nothing happens and it just says "can not reach page." Has anyone had this problem.
Thanks.
It's a SCAM. Don't do it!
SCAM!!!
You never need to provide your email, click on a link, pay a deposit, buy a gift card or anything else to "complete a transaction"
If you make a sale it will automatically show on your dashboard and payment will handled by Etsy. The payment will go into your Payment Account (access from Shop Manager / Finances) and will then be transferred to your bank account
As you clicked on a link you would be advised to scan your computer / device for viruses / malware
I had a message through the esty app and my online account. Will this still be a scam?
Cheers
yup, sorry, just a scammer. you have no sales.
@HudsonsdesignsStore Look at the message carefully. What is the URL. Is your message to buyer present? If not that is the scammer using Etsy's look.
Check your shop. Is there a 1 for sale listed?
Shop payment account?
The likelihood is that is a scam message.
Ets' emails have your message to buyer. A scammer cna't replicate that. THe URL is probably not Etsy's
Do not respond to it. Spam it. If you get a message asking for bank details, Spam it.
If you had a transaction it would show in your sales page. You have NO sales.
when you do get an actual sale you will only hear cha-ching from your phone. that's all.
I had cha-ching sound from the seller app, that's why I thought it was legitimate.
hmmm. well that is perplexing. are they manipulating that too?
does the cha-ching sound when you receive messages on etsy.
i have mine turned off.
anyway.
it is a scam.
we can all see you have 0 sales.
cha-ching sound is only for orders. it's the only notification I have on and with sound. with the new app an etsy message on Android sounded just like an email or text message.
Cell phones can be manipulated if they have your email address.
Do you have security on your phone? I would run the security.
Your email address may have been compromised. You may need to watch to see if you get other emails that are not coming through legitimate sources or ones you don't usually get.
