Anyone else having issues sending messages? I emailed support and they closed the case with out resolving it. I have customers reaching out to me and this is rather frustrating. Any advice from anyone out there?
Etsy will suspend your ability to send messages for a period of time if you send a lot of unsolicited messages. Is that what happened?
Hi @GlassyFields . We are a new shop and never used the message function. We've been blocked since day one. Not sure why. We have just 10 orders and getting our shop off the ground in November.
Thank you for the time and reaching out to my post.
@Former_Member: "Anyone else having issues sending messages?" does not provide any useful information to help you. Are you using an app or a browser? What error message are you getting?
Hi @BagmakerSupply . Sorry, I am a brand new shop so getting the hang of everything.
I get the same error on mobile, desktop, web and app. I'm a new shop, less than a month old and have not used the email function but attempted for the first time 5 days ago. I get the following error: "Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled. Please contact customer support to have them reactived. Also, see the FAQ and Community Guidelnes for more info about Messages"
1. I started a chat with support last week and they said they would address.
2. Noticed no support ticket was opened after the chat, I sent an email to support with screen shot showing the above error.
3. Today a potential customer emailed me with a request. Attempted to reply to their email and got the same error.
4. Went back to support to see they closed my ticket with no resolution. Hence opened another ticket.
Again, we're a new shop with no email history so not sure why this happened nor how to fix it. Support has been MIA.
Thanks for reading. Appreciate any help you can provide!
@Former_Member: "we're a new shop with no email history' eMails would have no effect here, just Etsy messages.
The "Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled" advisory generally means the system has detected that your account has been sending unsolicited non-transactional messages.
If it is truly in error, one of the Etsy admins who sometimes reads forum posts has been able to get the messaging unmuted. Hopefully he will see this post and check on it for you.
You should include the licensing information for all of the trademarked and copyrighted names and images in your shop in your listing, otherwise buyers (and Etsy) may conclude they are counterfeits. And a buyer could file a not as described case against you and both get their money back and keep the item. Including the licensing information will show that you are not selling those items illegally and people in the forum will be to help you.
Maybe your shop is under Etsy investigation for IP infringements, Mustang, Bronco, Ford...................
when working with customer support, keep responding to the same message with 'I still need help'. Starting new chats can result in getting put to the back of the queue each time you ask for support.
Also I've found that an online chat works best. Save your chat transcripts so that you can let them know that you're on your 2nd, 3rd, etc. chat w/o a resolution.
