The core details pop up is not functioning. After clicking physical item, made by another person, the apply button doesn't work.
Same issue here! Working on an iPad. Tried turning it from landscape to portrait (literally turning the iPad) and it gave me more questions and I was able to post my listing. I know this isn’t feasible with all devices but it worked for the iPad. I hope they fix it soon…SO FRUSTRATING!
I spoke to two live people on Etsy and that was pointless. I explained all that I tried with cookies, browsers and cache and nothing worked. So, I get a runaround of steps I already took and neither person seemed to be aware there is even a problem. I asked if they were aware and they did not answer. Plus, I have noticed along with this time of unable to list a bottom out of sales too. Something is very wrong at Etsy. How long does it take to fix a browser problem for a scrolling issue?
Same runaround when contacting them via email... Pretend this is the first time they're hearing of the problem... Then proceed to give the same generic steps to try and fix on our end.
Here are the steps I used to create a new listing. Step 1; Go to your Etsy shop and click on the filter to access your old sold out listings.Step 2) Click on the edit option. 3) You will have to remove the title, photos and description of your old listing and add in all of the new details. The only issue I ran into was one of my listings stated "Made in the 70's " which wasn't the case with the new one I was adding. So I added the following to my description; Please Note: Disregard where Etsy states this item was made in the 70's. I am editing this listing from an old sold listing. It is the only way I can publish a new listing as the screen freezes up when I try to add the "Core details" and won't permit me to any further. The only way around this glitch is to re-edit an old sold out listing.
I hope this helps you and others on here.
Same here cannot get past core on IPhone to post items.
Still not fixed as of Sunday night. Smh
I like to upload photos for listings on the browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc) on my phone (not the app). About a week ago I noticed this too.
I solved this problem by going to the app, clicking on the + to add a new listing, copying an existing similar listing (this is the key b/c the listing you copy already has the core details), changing the title (you can make it just a 1-word title b/c you are going to fix it in a minute on your browser), and saving the listing as a draft.
Then, I go back to the browser and go to my browser. You can do this on your phone, desk top, laptop, etc. I go to listings and click on "Drafts." Then I click on the listing I just created (changed the title on, and edit it as needed for the new item I am listing. You will need to delete each photo and the video before uploading new photos, but then you can just create a new title and go through all the sections as you normally would when listing a new item.
To recap -
On the app: Etsy App > Listings > + > "Copy an existing listing" > change the title > save the listing as a draft
On a browser: Shop Dashboard > Listings > Add a listing > Drafts > click on the listing you just created in the app and edit as normal.
This sounds complicated but it's really not. I love the "Copy an existing listing" option on the app because
I don't need to retype certain information (like the disclaimers and policies I put at the end of every item description).
Thanks for posting!
This issue just happened to me as I tried to do a new listing.
Work around doesn't solve the issue. The app has never been any good for listing doesn't bring up correct categories it's got glitches and if you copy paste you run risk of items not described cases. After 3 Etsy chats lve now emailed them with screenshot as they don't seem to understand core details page totally frozen you cannot scroll etc. And it's taking far too long to list other way as that is now problematic. It's not a browser issue had mine all checked out. So many sellers are seriously effected by this now. Even trying to update a current listing is now becoming problematic. Also category and attributes sections are starting to freeze you cannot scroll down so it's becoming a bigger problem . Fingers crossed someone will pick up on this soon .
Same issue here, support is just telling me to do things I've already done (clear browsing data, restart etc.). Copying an existing listing does work - HOWEVER, it only works if it's then same type of listing (same core details). So- in my case, I'm trying to do a digital download listing. I've never done a digital download, so I have nothing to copy. So I guess I'm out of luck. Super infuriating. I am supposed to have a digital download listed by Wednesday. This has been going on for weeks.
This was happening to me. It appears to freeze and you can’t scroll down. I found that when my iPad is horizontal I can’t scroll the core details question, but I turn it vertical the rest of the prompt appears and I can complete the action. It is annoying to have to rotate the device each time, as my iPad case is made for horizontal use and that’s what I’m most comfortable with. Hopefully that helps someone.
Why is this still happening??? A week later and I still have a frozen core details page. Etsy support is zero help. They just pretend it's the very first time they are hearing of the problem... I'm not using the app. Tried multiple browsers.
I guess eBay it is
Having this problem too. I have only just signed up and only have two listings because I can’t get past the core issue! Sort it out Etsy!!
Still not working, as of 21st February 2025!!! Unbelievable.
Yep…not working for me either still (((. Ugh! ! Last night went through the back door, used a deactivated item. Keep in mind it goes away, I found if you take a live item and edit it and duplicate it it changes. Just tired of trying to brain storm how to add a new listing! This is ridiculous! How can Etsy not know about this??? Their call centers those people answering know nothing! Maybe if the press got involved how awful their programmers are they’d wake up! They spend thousands for commercials! Like hello Etsy! We are frustrated!
i know We are only the sellers!!!
I've contacted Etsy numerous times over this issue..Even the real humans are not efficient in doing their jobs..They are absolutely useless when.it comes to helping resolve this issue. They use the same talking points over and over. If they can't do their job then why are they still there? Etsy doesn't have a telephone number to call and you can either chat with a chat bot and if you get a real person they are of no more help than the bots are.
I have sent them screen shots of the "Core" details page that is frozen and explained it very well but it still isn't working.
I enjoyed Etsy until this all happened and I have since moved on to another online auction site as I have.come to the realization that this is NEVER going to be resolved.
This "Core" details hasn't been working since 2024!
Same problem for two days. Desktop with Edge. Contacted support through chat, response system problem. A system problem is from a software change. Bad testing before release. Clearing cookies is usually a bad suggestion by support. Not our problem, yours.
response:
Thank you for sharing the information!
Peri says:I would let you know that this needs to be escalate this case with the technical team so this is ongoing issue these days. Many sellers are facing this issue.
Peri says:My apologies for the inconvenience as this is the technical glitch from our end.

Recycling inactive and expired listings worked.
Shouldn't have to do that. And you won't get normal new listing boost. This problem has been referred to technical team months ago again and again by various sellers and myself who has been seriously effected by this and still not sorted. No human l don't think has even picked up on this so it is time now to wind down. It's pretty overwhelming here for lot of us here on Etsy. Lots lost their valentine days market could not list and ongoing. The soft ware is not working. And even attributes is now freezing.. Nightmare.
Any old deactivated or expired listing can be reactivated for 20 cents and then edited. I can't believe that Etsy doesn't care. The people who have the problem are likely a sub group and Etsy can't recreate the problem. It it was everyone...
What really irritates me is that they won't communicate.
