the message from the store, I mean the date does not change, I changed it more than once but the date comes out the same, I don't know how to do that, can someone tell me that the date always comes out in 2020!!! Even though I updated the date it does not change and this is what makes any client think that the updates are outdated. This surprises me because I understand how I can correct the problem. Can anyone help me with this problem?
@ropakima If you update your announcement, it should change. If not, contact etsy.
can you provide some clarity please so we can help , specifically what date field do you mean and where are you seeing this information ?
What message from the store?? where are you seeing this?
Thank you for answering me
the update date so that the talk does not appear outdated. It appears on December 15, 2020 and this is what makes the customer feel that the store is neglected.
Have you tried changing your shop announcement to see if that will then change that date?
Your announcement shouldn't say 'thanks'. It should use keywords to say what you're selling in your shop. That section is crawled by Google so take advantage of it.
@ropakima If you update your announcement, it should change. If not, contact etsy.
Thanks for answering me
The name of the store is Ropakima and the update date does not change, although I updated the information more than once and the date appears in 2020, which gives any customer the impression that the store is neglected.
I have tried repeatedly to change the store message, but the date has not changed, it is always December 15, 2020. This gives the impression that the updates are old and that the store is neglected. I don't know how to solve this problem.
I see two dates on your store:
On Etsy since 2021
Policies updated 2/25/24 (today)
Where does it say 2020? Your shop wasn't even created then , so that's really strange.
She means her shop announcement which seems to be stuck in 2020.
I put the store policy today, that is true, but I mean in the store's message there is an old date that is December 15, 2020, which gives the impression that the store is neglected. I just contacted the customer service. help and they are looking at it to solve the problem
@leinweberstudio
I was looking on my tablet, which doesn't show an announcement date at all. (Adding: I don't see dates on my phone either.)
I see it now on a desktop. Really strange, since the shop didn't even exist then.
@ropakima
Not much of a consolation, I know, but not everyone sees dates there. It does make you wonder what other unseen bugs are happening though.
Have you tried to change the actual TEXT of the announcement, going from "thanks for your visit" to something else?
Usually that should then change the date.
Also, don't forget to hit SAVE or it will not stick. Having made that mistake myself a couple of times I thought I'd mention it.
Thank you for responding to me and I apologize for the delay in responding because I was with the help and they are looking at the problem because I changed the text several times but there is no way to update it which gives the impression that the store is neglected and I just contacted with the help desk and they are trying to resolve the issue
Go to you Shop Manger dashboard. On the left side of the screen you will see the words "Sales Channels". There will be a little pencil beside the name of your shop. Click on that pencil.
It will open your Etsy shop page and if you look to the right of the word Announcement, you will see your announcement and the word edit and a pencil below the announcement. Click on that pencil again and make your changes. Be sure that you click Save after doing that.
Thank you for helping me but I have done it but there is no way to change it. I was with the help service and did the instructions they told me but there is no way to change it. It is a technical problem.
Yes, indeed, and this is what makes anyone who enters, the first thing that comes to mind is that the store is neglected.
Actually, this is what makes me worry. Perhaps there are other invisible mistakes that make the store not appear and the movement in it is slow, to the point that it is possible that anyone who passes by the store may think that it is neglected.
I understand the worry.
I just want to say that would not make me think the shop is neglected. (I can't even see a date on 2 out of 3 devices.) I don't expect shops to constantly change their announcement, if there's nothing new to say. I'm sure mine have been unchanged for years, and all has been well.
That said, obviously the date there should be correct. And I'm sorry that Etsy wasn't able to help you fix it.
The exception to this is if there are actual dates within the announcement.
So if your announcement said something like "Grand opening sale Jan. 2020!" and you hadn't removed that, then yes -- that would look like you weren't paying attention.
I understand it's annoying, but I do think you're over-thinking. I would be willing to bet that most shoppers don't even notice that date, and if they did, they probably wouldn't make that assumption.
Work on your shop announcement. That's more important than that date.
I really hope that they did not notice that. As for the ads, I am trying as much as possible to improve them and I am trying to change the keyword, even though the traffic is somewhat small. If you have some suggestions, I will be grateful to you.
@ropakima Here's a link to an article that should help:

I cannot change the date, at least from my control panel. I tried in every way, but I was unable. I think the problem is technical because I tried and entered another way to change the date, but I could not. The problem is technical, and I believe that the help team must help, and only they can control that.
@ropakima you can't change the date, it changes when you edit the announcement. I've noticed that changing just one word in the announcement doesn't always update the date. Try using different words and stop editing, give some time and refresh the page. I hope it works.
