Hi, I have been trying now for over 6 weeks to get my funds deposited to my bank and Etsy just plays games about it. I have requested many times to speak to a supervisor and they refuse to let me talk to their boss. I don't know what else to do to get my back money. I'm starting to think I may have to hire a lawyer.
This is what has happened so far. Back in July Etsy informed me that they were going to be charging tax on my sales. After hearing this we decided to register with the government as a business and get a business account through the bank. We changed our banking information that use to work okay over to the business account. When we tried to confirm our new bank account by seeing a small Etsy deposit, there was none to be seen. Etsy finance team told us to try a different bank account and when that didn't work, they told us to try another bank account. That didn't work either and ended up getting our shop suspended for a couple weeks because of multiple tries at confirming bank account.
Etsy did remove the suspension because it was done in error. The problem is every sale I make just sits in my Etsy account. If I try to have it transferred, it just gets returned every time. Etsy tried to blame my bank for this, but it is not them doing. As my bank said. In order for the bank to decline something, they first need to be able to see it on their side and nothing has ever appeared for them to decline in.
Is there a head office or a manager or someone who can actually do something to help me?
I do not consent to them holding my money like this and giving me no answers to why this has been happening. If their system won't deposit my funds, then shouldn't they be making other arrangements with me for a money order or something? Please tell me they can't just hold my money forever.
Just a suggestion ... Although you have a Business Bank Account it may be that the way you are recording this in Etsy is incorrect. From all I understand, the Etsy Shop Owner Name must be exactly the same as the Holder of the Bank Account. That means, only one person is responsible for Etsy Payments and Fees. If you are entering a Business Name as the Bank Account Name, this may be causing the error you are experiencing.

If the deposit is going from your etsy account, - and coming back in about a day, then the clearing system can't clear it, which means there is a problem with the routing/account number
also, ask if your bank accepts foreign transfers to that account, some banks put automatic refusal on some accounts for foreign transfers
if it's a week or so later, it's definitely something your bank is doing, not etsy, you need to find out from them, why they are bouncing it back.
make sure the name on your "legal" section, matches the name on your bank account exactly
If your account fails verification, you are normally put on vacation, until you sort it out, maybe they lifted the vacation mode in error, try re-verifying, with all the info exactly matching
.....
if the money is not being transferred at all, check the card on file, in the billing section, has an expiry date on etsy, that is in date.
No one here can help you as we do not work for Etsy--we ae merely other sellers like yourself.
Without knowing exactly everything that has happened it is even hard to give advice.
Etsy support is almost non existant.
My recommendation would be to talk to an attorney right now. Initial consultations are usually rather inexpensive.
All of the above ^^^, or maybe Etsy is investigating items in your shop you claim to be handmade by you....just an observation.
@HouseofWhisperingFir You are probably right. A reverse image shows quite a few items on Alibaba and numerous other sites.
Have you been dealing with Etsy directly or via chat? Chat can't really fix financial issues but they can pass you on. You never said you were on any sort of shop reserve and Etsy should not just be not depositing your money. I don't think you can do much via the app but on a browser go to your dashboard then community/help> contact us> sell on Etsy > then look for financial help and at the bottom click need more help and they should provide an email address to contact them and then email you back.

I think the problem has to do with the new tax they added for Canadian sellers on July 1st. I'll to try and get in contact with Worldpay. I think Etsy uses them as their money service. My registered business is connected to another legal business which makes and customize items. Those items are sold directly through me on several platforms including Amazon and at our own personal website at IrresistibleKarma.com I was just asking for some help to understand what is going on with this Etsy problem. Thank you all for your help and kindness.
I'm sorry you're having this issue. Etsy doesn't really seem to give a crap about it's community any longer. They're currently holding my money also because I refuse their demands to confirm my account with a shady 3rd party site to prove that I'm not laundering money.. LOL Just wow. I hope you get your money back and I'd move to a much better managed and less tyrannical platform.
@Julez7JewelzCabochon If you do the manual for Plaid, they don't get your password.
And most other selling venues also use Plaid, in addition to thousands of banks and other institutions. This whole Plaid thing has been blown out of proportion.
Can you try switching back to the original account you were getting paid through? If you still have it, it might not be ideal, but it worked. When you change banking information there is a 5 day hold.
I am having the same issue. The "available funds" marked in green, the date keeps changing every day to the next day. Its been weeks and I've send countless emails to support. My bank info is correct, my reserve is met, and the available funds are over the deposit minimum. What gives? It's very frustrating. My customer received her order two weeks ago and gave a positive review already. I've never had to wait this long to be paid on ANY selling platform. I'm not posting one more item for sale on Etsy until I get my money!
@VictorianThyme: "I've send countless emails to support" Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy will assume that it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so closes the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile).
Also, have you made sure that the credit card you have on file is current? That seems to be a common reason for deposits to not be processed.
