I'm unable to set up calculated shipping in any new listings . This happening in just one of my shops. I have two. I've been selling on Etsy since 2006, so not a newbie at this. In late 2023 and Jan 2024, I was able to set up calculated shipping in both shops with no problems. I really only need it for one, where I sell fabric. Now in my fabric shop, if I try to set up a shipping profile, all I am given is the option of "fixed or free" for the shipping amount. I am not given the option of "calculate it for me". Furthermore, If I attempt to modify or even look at an existing calculated shipping profile that I created successfully at the beginning of the year, a big red error box appears stating "You need at least one domestic shipping service!" but there is no way to select any. Have been at this for 2 days. Finally figured out that my fabric shop is simply not being given the ability of calculated shipping on any new listings. Must be a bug/technical issue on Etsy's end or else I am a complete nincompoop. There have been other posts from 2023 reporting this same problem but I haven't seen anyone say they figured it out or got it working again. If anyone has, hopefully you will see this message and tell me what you discovered. Thanks!
I'm in the same boat, I don't have too many listings that I use calculated for as most of my stuff is either under 4 oz or 8 ox so I do flat rate. Or I try to use Priority flat rate envelopes. The listings I do have that would need calculated, I have looked at the cost from here in Virginia to California and have charged that and am telling my customers that if the postage is less I will refund them.
I am still using the old listing page because as you say the new listing page says either free shipping or flat rate. And of course the big red letters that don't help the problem at all.
The other problem I just noticed the other day, when I was going to up my charge for 8 oz pkg, is that I can't do it. The profile says edit and then save but it doesn't do the save part. I'm wondering if I should delete my old form profiles completely as it seems like they are connected to the new form as it says flat rate or free shipping? But I'm loathe to do that as I don't know if it would even work.
I've posted before on this and people don't understand that we can't use the new page for shipping at all.
@LynnsLittleShop The new listings template has a spot for weight and dimensions. All one has to do is click on the plus sign.
sounds exactly same as my problem. I tried deleting profiles and starting over and all i could create were "fixed or free" profiles. If you have any old calculated profiles that are still working I wouldn't recommend deleting them.
Using the new template? In the new template, you can click to open up the box to select calculated shipping profile.
The other is to click on the plus sign (add item weight and size). It opens up to show the space for adding the information.
I use the new template and don't have a problem with using copy or completely new to use calculated shipping.
When selecting the profile, select it and then when you go back there is the pencil and edit where you can edit your profile.
You can also change the profile under Settings > Shipping settings.
I am on Edge. I have no extensions or anything that may interfere. I do not use a VPN because Etsy does not work well with a VPN,
As I said I have no problem adding calculated shipping to a copy in the listing template or adding calculated shipping to a completely new using the new template. I've been able to do this for months,
I have no problem with calculated shipping in one shop. It is only my second shop where calculated shipping is no longer working. It was working just fine until recently.
I don't have a plus sign on that shipping page. this is what I have - sends me to the shipping profiles on my old page.
Give shoppers clear expectations about delivery time and cost by making sure your shipping info is accurate, including the shipping profile and your order processing schedule. You can make updates any time in Shipping settings.

The link above is a screenshot showing what Etsy displays when I try to create a new shipping profile. I bet you are seeing same.
I posted it on Flickr. it is safe to view.
@janinekingdesigns if you do a totally new listing, I mean not copy is the above what you see on the new page?
tried that. didn't work.
Have you tried using the OLD listing form via a browser?
yes have tried everything. old and new listing format, different browsers, my phone and my desktop. Simply does not work anymore. Others have been reporting exact same problem since August 2023.
@janinekingdesigns @LynnsLittleShop
I'm on the "new" listing form and I see a place to add your calculated shipping profiles.
Under the "Shipping" sections:
I see "Shipping option" and beside it a button to CLICK to "SELECT Profile".
If I click on that profile button I can pick from my list of calculated shipping profiles.
Then it comes up below to enter weight and dimension.
If I want to create a "new" shipping profile, I can click on the + sign "Create new" and another page comes up to do a new profile and can pick from "I'll enter fixed prices manually" or "calculated them for me".
Fill out the info, "save as shipping profile", name the profile and it will be in your list.
If you don't save it you have to do everything all again for each listing.
ETA: you can also set up, edit or delete shipping profiles for calculated or fixed shipping shipping under "settings > Shipping settings > shipping profile tab."
yes, I see all of that in one of my shops where calculated shipping works just fine but in the other shop no. Others have been reporting exact same problem since Aug 2023. One person said they have 4 shops and it was working in all four but stopped working in one of them. Same here. I know how calculated shipping works and was using it just fine. It simply stopped working in one of my shops.

On Flickr I posted a screen shot image so you can see what is displayed in my one shop when I try to create a shipping profile. This is exactly what others have reported. We only get the option of fixed or free. There is no "calculate it for me" option. In my other shop calculated shipping works just fine.
The calculated/fixed options are at the top of my screen on shipping profiles.
The profile page you attached a picture of, is a shipping profile for "fixed" shipping only.
If I click "I'll enter fixed prices manually" I see what you see (except I can change it to "calculate them for me" at the top of the page.
I don't see that option on your screen shot to switch back and forth.
That is just weird and since it's been ongoing since Aug. doesn't seem like Etsy is going to fix it (probably too busy hiding the descriptions/shipping info on listings).
VintageTreasures thanks for looking at the screen shot. What's happening is maddening. Yes, Etsy it seems is too busy with their experiments and using us as guinea pigs to care if some of our shops aren't running properly. My guess is they sell their research data. A number of years back they started touting themselves as a "tech company" rather than an ecommerce site. That says a lot.
deleted. reposted as reply.

@janinekingdesigns thanks for posting the screen shot, that's what I get too.
A customer messaged me to say before Christmas that she was trying to buy something but she got a pop up that said there was no shipping price, that's how I learned I don't have any calculated profiles that work.
It's like the new shipping page where I could do calculated doesn't come up and it only gives me any flat rate shipping profiles I had before the new listing page came out.
Maddening is the correct word for it.
Yes and so discouraging too that something as critical as calculating shipping doesn't work for some shops.
My calculated shipping on Etsy ended up being exorbitantly high for customers. Double what it costs on Pirate ship so cannot use it.
Thanks to all who replied. There are other threads on this and for those dealing with it, there has been no fix. One person said Etsy support denied that it was happening and told her that no one else was having the same problem. I guess they don't check the forums. Maybe we're part of another Etsy experiment and they want it this way for some of us. At least it's comforting to know that I'm not alone and not going insane.
I agree
