Buying labels for an order with multiple items and Etsy is forcing me to pay shipping for each item

There was a technical problem this morning where Etsy's shipping labels were showing "no delivery services available". They fixed it, but it is still malfunctioning. I have an order with 2 items and it is forcing me to buy labels for each item in the order even though they can ship together. I filled in the info for the order and when I go to purchase the label it says I am buying 2 labels for one order. Double the price of shipping because they are not allowing me to bundle the items in one order and ship together.

I just noticed that is now requiring you to delete a label for an order when there is more than one item in the order which is terrible because if you have an order with 5 items you have to delete 4 labels to make sure you purchase just one label for the order. It is also making it very easy to accidentally purchase extra labels if you don't realize that you are buying a label for EACH ITEM in the order.

Are you not able to delete the second label (click on the X at the left where the labels are listed) before purchasing?

I am, but it is a strange new issue that could lead to many sellers accidentally purchasing extra labels so I want them to fix it.

@FreshCuttery Ah, glad you're at least able to delete the extra label.

I've had this happen a couple of times over the years. I usually catch it, but occasionally I don't until after I purchase. At that point, I request a label refund, and I think they've all gone through no problem. (I mean, yes, it's annoying to wait several weeks for the refund, not to mention the extra time to account for the back-and-forth transactions in bookkeeping...)

There's one product in particular that Etsy keeps wanting me to ship separately, I was never able to figure out why, but at least now I'm on high alert whenever that product gets ordered.

You sell mostly small items. It may be because you are giving the dimensions of the box you intend to use. When you list a pair of earrings, try using the amount of space they will take in the box. For instance 1" by 1" by 1". 4 sets of earrings will fit in any box size you have listed in your shipping profiles. You need to have boxes in your profiles that Etsy can select from in order to combine the items. It is a doable thing. Sellers that sell large items can't normally use this method due to the cubic pricing and it's a little trickier

It looks like they have been working on the shipping functionality and that I need to go and edit each of my listings manually to change their dimensions to the size of the item before it is packed. Previously I had the dimensions listed as the size of it packaged. They do not have a way to bulk edit the item dimensions so this means I have to go manually edit all 188 listings. But the support agent said they will give the suggestion to their team to be able to bulk edit item dimensions.
