Buyer's messages vanishing

I've been communicating with a buyer all morning. About an hour ago, they buyer sent a message to me saying they couldn't send the message, but I reassured the buyer that, indeed, I saw the it. Now, when I returned to the conversation in messages, ALL of the buyer's messages are gone. Is anyone else having this problem?

@EventideMagick   :  Are you having this issue using an Etsy app or via mobile browser or desktop browser (it makes a difference as to possible causes and potential solutions, otherwise we have to guess).

Everyone else's messages show, but not this particular buyer.

I asked what you were using because there have been reports in this forum about message weirdness when using an Etsy app which do not seem to occur when using a desktop browser,
