Buyer getting dispatch notification early

Guessing this another one of many bugs, buyers are being notified there items have been shipped as soon as the label is created even if its created for a day or two later and you select the postal date, says pre-transit on my end and not due to ship until tomorrow.

It even says Buyer notification scheduled for 31 May, 2024, so the email shouldn't be sent yet

Why are you buying labels early? Buyers automatically receive an update when their label is purchased, not when their purchase has actually been shipped.

When I buy a label, Etsy posts a little blurb about being sure to drop off today. Think eBay does the same, can't remember.

Just letting you know that Etsy is going after shops who buy early but ship late. It's not based on your stated processing times any longer.

Buying labels on etsy, you can select a date to ship, for example, say ships tomorrow

you buy early, so you can get all the labels printed today, get everything packaged today, so can leave for the post office, with everything ready first thing in the morning.

If I buy a label for - ships tomorrow - I don't get the copy of the confirmation of dispatch e-mail until tomorrow

are you saying the e-mail goes to the customer today, when I don't get it until tomorrow?,  and then they have a different date than me?

I buy early, select I will ship tomorrow, and ship tomorrow, I don't ship late, I ship on time

....

I have never had any blurb about make sure you ship today, where does that appear, if you select to ship tomorrow?

Bought a label this evening around 3 hours ago, customer reached out as they wished to change the images they wish to use which is fine, we print on the day of dispatch and don't ship late either, buyer said that we have already dispatched there item asked for a screenshot and they sent one over saying its dispatched, checked out end and it shows as Buyer notification scheduled for 31 May, 2024 

I've messaged you screenshots of what we see compared to what they recieved obviously hiding any buyer information

I buy the same day I ship - call me crazy- and get that blurb every time I buy a label here which isn't often.

When I get a Canada Post email update from other places I buy from, the email says a label has been created. Doesn't say shipped. I can only buy Canada Post labels on Etsy so why would that be any different for labels bought here? Maybe it's different for other countries.

Also, the next day could mean 24hrs to ship which means you're shipping on time even if it is the next day.

Regardless, Etsy is going after shops who are buying labels early. Take it up with them.

You select the date to ship, etsy offers that, they don't only offer same day shipping, as some times you have to arrange for courier collection as well, so you can set it too next day or even the day after, its not about shipping late, our items are shipped on time as per what we say and normally early, we pre purchase labels so we know where the day starts each day, its something to do with etsys side thats notifiying buyers when it shouldn't be doing that until tomorrow, it even says on our shipping on the order, notification scheduled for buyer for tomorrow

@CraftyCornishMaids: "I have never had any blurb about make sure you ship today ..." I think that this blurb is only visible if you are manually marking an order as completed. It shows up after you have "completed" the order. If you are using Etsy labels or an integration you are probably never on that screen.

I manually mark a lot of mine as complete

(etsy labels in the UK doesn't sell tracked, I have to buy those from royal mail click and drop, and manually enter and mark as complete)

I definitely have labels with purchase e-mail receipts on a Monday, and delivery notification e-mails on a Tuesday

And by doing that (etsy sending early ship notifications), that now changes the estimated ship arrival dates, right?

This is another reason why I don't buy Etsy shipping labels

FWIW on my last order I received the usual confirmation that I'd paid $$ to Etsy and then Etsy's order confirmation email.

Then I received an "order shipped" email at 9:21am telling me my order shipped. 

At 5:39pm the same day I received another email from Etsy telling me "USPS was working their magic".

Despite the titles that Etsy gave the emails, in the end it appears Etsy sent me a "the label has been printed here's your tracking #" email.
Then they sent a confirmation that "USPS has the package in their hands".

For my order yes, the shop owner did purchase & ship the same day.
But this could be a problem if Etsy is sending what are really "the label printed" type emails to all buyers immediately upon the purchase of a label and ignoring the date the shop owner says the package is scheduled to go out in the mail. 
Etsy's email title on the first email did imply that the package actually shipped.
