I have a potential buyer who wants to purchase one of my items, but he claims he can't because he's being told there is something wrong with the URL. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

There have been some pretty nasty scams going on lately. Some protective measures:
- Don't take the conversation off Etsy
- Don't take the sale off Etsy
- Don't click on links the buyer provides. If you need to see something, they can take a photo or screenshot and attach it to Etsy messages.
- If they (or anyone) wants you to buy a Gift Card for any reason, RUN!
Be careful, be cautious, and let us know how it plays out.

Re: Buyer claims bad URL link, cannot purchase item
Is he just clicking on the listing or finding the URL someplace else?

I don't know. I'll have to ask him.

Be aware of scams that start like this. Taking orders outside Etsy is prohibited. I hope this isn't the case for you

Sounds like that scam and the next message will want to take this off Etsy and will have links for you to click on to see what "he" wants. IF so, don't!

Well, I wrote him over a half hour ago, and he hasn't responded yet. We'll see if he responds.

Re: Buyer claims bad URL link, cannot purchase item
Adding, I added one of your items to my shopping cart and went all the way through checkout, stopping only before the final click. No problems at all.
There is nothing wrong with your shop checkout.
