I just opened my store. 3 month old shop. I didn't text anyone, I didn't do anything. I got my first message from a user but when I want to reply I get this error. I contacted technical support 4 times, although they say that the relevant unit will send me an e-mail each time, I can't find an answer or a solution. I will have to close my shop. """ Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled. Please contact support to have them reactivated. Also, see the FAQ and Community Guidelines for more info about Messages. """
Having the messaging option disabled usually comes about when a seller sends unsolicited messages to, who the seller considers, potential buyers. Sometimes, it happens when a seller sends messages or offers to buyers who have purchased in the past, with the hope that they will make more purchases.
I think you'd be better off just waiting for the 10 days or so to be reinstated rather than waiting around for help from Support.
Thank you for your reply sir. However, it has been 11 days since I realized the situation and I had not even sent a message to anyone in my market. I have no idea why this is
If this customer had previously bought something from you...you can find their email address on their order and answer them that way. Tell them the message system at Etsy is having issues so you are emailing them directly.
Thank you for your reply sir. I just opened this shop, I didn't have any sales, but I got my first message. This issue needs to be resolved in order for me to continue my shop or I will have to delete it.
There have been a few similar threads, and possibly a glitch. Here's one from yesterday ...
Thanks a lot for your answer sir. However, I connected to etsy support 4 times and it's been 14 days and I couldn't find any solution.
Done keep opening messages to support just answer one with I still need help. If you keep opening them they will think all the others are taken care of and just push your new one to the bottom of the pile.
@DancerMonkey AND @StarDustStore39 Are you having this issue with BOTH profiles or just the new store?
You do need to finish setting up your store, with Policies, an About section, etc. You also need to disclose ALL accounts in the public profile of each and every account, so says Etsy's TOU.
And yes, respond to an already open ticket rather than create a new ticket.
Thank you for your answer. I'm having this issue on my new store DustStarStore39. I've checked all settings, I don't see a problem. I've never had a problem like this at my other store.
"Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled. Please contact support to have them reactivated. Also, see the FAQ and Community Guidelines for more info about Messages."
I couldn't find how to solve this problem. I've been looking for two hours, but I've been wandering around in vain. I'm back to nervousness here. What is the point of closing every place to contact etsy? I have never seen such a ridiculous system before. how do i solve this problem my friend???
@omsantis If Etsy disabled, you will need to wait for them to release your message system. If you were sending out messages to potential buyers that is considered spam. We are not allowed to contact anyone. The buyer has to initiate contact.
If you look in the shop manager, look under Community in the left hand side. Contact us. Follow the instructions and look for 'I still need help'.
You might want to consider finishing your shop. You lack shop policies, about page, and location. All that is required.
@LandKbeads they have infringing items in this shop, DancerMonkey.
Their second shop is StarDustStore39
They are having problems with their 3rd shop DustStarStore39
I'm having this issue on my new store DustStarStore39.
@OwlAlwaysKnit I believe that DustStarStore39 is a typo, as that store does not exist.
We have been warned by Admin to stick to the topic at hand. Pointing out Trademark infringement is not on topic and that is not a reason why Etsy will deactivate a store's ability to message customers.
I'm just having trouble with the 2nd store (StarDustStore39) which is new. It's been 16 days
Sorry I thought you meant I had spelt the name wrong as you were answering my post, I have asked for my post to be removed where I mentioned TM
@OwlAlwaysKnit No worries. Yeah, it's interesting that it's an error that OP made at least twice. You would think he would know his own store name or come back and correct me that it's is, in fact, 3 stores and not 2.
Oh, well.
Dear friend, thank you for your reply. but some scammers in my store claim that there is a problem with my products, even though they have no problems with the message and demand a refund. and I can't reply to them except by e-mail. What should I do if I have a problem with (not being able to) respond to buyers on etsy? Is such a stupid thing possible? I will be glad again if at least someone informs about when my message problem will be solved. but there is no place where we can reach anyone about etsy. Now I'm starting to think that etsy is doing this specifically. It seems to me as if by doing this he is aiming to close our stores and seize our income. there must be a solution to this. I can't understand if there is an unsolvable problem in a system like etsy.
