I have decided to dissolve my s-corp since it was more trouble than it was worth - and I want to go back to "Individual/Sole Proprietorship".
The input fields do not allow me to input my SSN and it refuses to allow me to update my information or change the business type.
I have contacted Etsy support twice and they refuse to acknowledge the bug and tell me to try again tomorrow (They keep telling me to check my ssn, when there is *no field* for me to enter the SSN).
Now I'm getting warnings that my taxpayer info is incorrect (it is incorrect, because my corporation no longer exists after I dissolved it).
I hope some technical support staff see this and will help me. Please help! I don't want to get my shop frozen.
Oh I would also like to add, that I have already tried alternative browsers and turned off my ad-blockers. So I don't think it's a browser related bug.
@HareBrushInc: I wonder is this issue is related to the fact that Etsy does not allow the transfer of shops and accounts. See https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040985353-Can-I-Transfer-My-Etsy-Account-to-Someone-Else-... What you are doing involves the transfer of ownership from one legal entity (your corporation) to another (you as an individual).
Well it is odd because it allowed me to change it from my original status as an individual (what I started my shop out as, years ago) to the s-corp (a few years after that). My s-corp was also a single individual owned entity (me). I have a feeling most people don't go backwards back to individual entity after going through the trouble to establish a business, so I'm thinking this is an uncommon issue to encounter. I just want to go back to the simplicity of not filing separate income taxes etc. The only solution I can think of is to re-establish. my S-corp - which I don't want to do. (I don't enjoy all that extra paperwork. )

If you have an EIN and it was set up under your name, you might be able to continue to use it. I am a sole and I have an EIN.
I'm sorry, I was trying to reply to the other person's comment, but it keeps posting it under yours (more glitches and bugs...lol). I am going to see if the EIN will continue to work - I'll test it out tomorrow.
I'm stuck in this bug apparently and I just opened my shop. I have only been a sole proprietor but the moment I finally opened my store after making sure everything was the best I thought I could make it they instantly suspended my shop saying there was a problem with my tax information but will not let me change anything.
I have this EXACT same problem. Tried opening a shop last week with our LLC, made a simple typo with my name and ever since then, it's been a nightmare to fix because of this apparent bug??? It makes sense, because I cannot change anything or add my SSI number now. I'm super super frustrated. Any advice any of you have is greatly appreciated. I am in the 24 hour wait loop now, however. The fact that there is no customer service for this is frustrating. My company name and EIN number are correct. I now want to switch to just me, and I can't, even though I am verified.
I'm also stuck except my shop is several years old and I've made 10000+ sales. October is usually a busy time of year for me but my shop has been deactivated. Etsy requested tax information, I filled it out, they said "We were unable to verify the business information you entered at onboarding" so I double checked it all against the business registration records. Etsy rejected it again and shut my shop. I've been trying to get help from Etsy but they just auto replied with links to all the info pages which I've already read. It just says I'll need to submit more documentation but no details of what documents or to where / who. I've searched the support pages, community pages, Reddit, Google. The only way to resolve it seems to be get through to a human at Etsy but that doesn't seem possible.
@LuckyMoonCo: "... they just auto replied with links to all the info pages which I've already read." Often the first response you get from customer support is an automated reply meant to weed out the people who contact support over common issues that can be easily solved.
Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy will assume that it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so appears to close the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile).
Yeah I've replied and gone over the issue again in detail but heard nothing back. Pretty frustrating considering how strict they are on message response times for star sellers!
And thanks for the tip about not opening a new issue. I'll bear that in mind!
Hello, I see your shop is online.
have you been able to figure it out,
