In both the Etsy Seller and Etsy (buyer) Android apps, offer messages display only the message text and offer amount, with no way to see which specific listing the offer refers to. A link in the message appears, but tapping it just reloads the same message thread. On desktop web, the item image is visible.
Environment
Mobile: Etsy Seller app (Android) and Etsy app (Android) on Google Pixel; Date observed: August 26, 2025
Steps to Reproduce
Receive an offer from a buyer.
Open the conversation in the Etsy Seller app (same in Etsy app).
Note that only the message and offer amount are shown—no item title, thumbnail, or listing link target.
Tap the link shown in the message.
Observe that it reloads the same message thread with no additional item details.
On desktop web, open the same conversation and click the item link. Image displays correctly on web version.
Expected Result
Message should clearly show the exact listing (title and thumbnail).
Clicking the item link should open the associated listing page.
Actual Result
Mobile apps: Only message and offer amount are shown; no item identification.
Link in the message loops back to the same message thread.
Desktop: Item image is visible, but clicking the link still loops back to the message.
Impact
Sellers neither identify which item an offer targets from mobile nor respond to buyer, and also cannot navigate to the listing from either platform, causing delays and risk of responding incorrectly.
Workarounds
None in apps. Only desktop version (Windows11) seems to work properly.
Not sure about offer messages, but for some time now Etsy has been removing the option to answer "buyer" messages outside of the Etsy site. I believe this move was made to minimise the impact of scammers pretending to be Etsy and getting new users to follow their links and give out financial information in the belief that they are talking to Etsy. It is a good way to deal with user security issues before they happen, and makes perfect sense. I would never do anything financial on the app, I use it only to be informed of orders when I am out and about so I don't come home to surprises. The best place to manage orders and avoid scams is in your shopfront.
I'd at least like to see what item I am get an offer on. ☺

I have received two different offer messages with the same results the op described. The links want you to leave Etsy which I refused to do and just placed the messages in a spam folder.
