I have 14 listings taken down the last 2 weeks and 1 today.  I can't seem to get ahold of support, they close my tickets automatically. I spoke with someone on the phone who couldn't do anything but forward a ticket to another group.

This has happened in the past to us multiple times and usually was an easy fix for support.  Now I can't seem to get any support.

We design and make all our pins since opening here in 2015 and follow all the listing rules.  No idea why the bots keep coming after us.

Re: Bots keep taking down listings for Handmade Policy Violation

They took one of my bracelet listings down and I found my item photos and item description on AliExpress as well as a Shopify site.  I emailed Etsy a dozen times and only got their canned response.  Very frustrating!

but the fact that the photos are elsewhere isn't anything Etsy can do.

If you haven't...it is your job to send DMCA's to the other sites.

If people don't do that, the copiers keep on...

Etsy can't make the decision 'who is first' because I'm sure people see an image and decide to make it...too.

@CoquetteBath DMCA doesn't work in China.  They do not have to honor them.

@PatchesOhoul

Alibaba does honor it. Though I understand that they don't make it extremely easy. But yes, there's an old Top Gear episode about how 'intellectual property' in China.

typical British humor and I have to say...spot on, too.

But @PrairieIce is upset with Etsy about this issue, if I'm reading correctly. Etsy isn't in position (legally) to rule on 'who is first' here. They respond to the information provided. If the same image is flooding the internet...for them it is the chicken/egg scenario. It is up to the IP holder to do their own policing.

if they provide DMCA (because writing one without authority is, itself, illegal and can result in charges...) to Etsy, that stands a lot more credibility than 'they stole my image/design/whatever'...

Not saying it will work 1000%, only that it is far better to have one than not in this type of situation.
