Good day. My shop was sent on vacation and I received a letter about the blocking. I did not violate the rules and everything was paid. I have an assumption that this is due to the fact that I am in Ukraine and my production is in the city of Zaporozhye. Now cities and villages in my state are under Russian control. But not my city (where my workshop is). Could this be the reason for the block?
Hello from Canada,
I am so sorry to hear about your shop being put on vacation mode: you make amazing bags and have excellent reviews. I'm wondering if your shop shut-down has occurred because of current risks to your city. As you no doubt know, Russia already has attacked Ukraine's electrical substations causing power failure for millions of citizens. Such attacks also pose a serious threat to Ukraine's nuclear power plants, including the one in your province. Given this dire situation, I don't know if you're able to receive up-to-date news, so here's an on-line article I just found:
I wish you and your loved ones safety and good health -- and victory for Ukraine.
Yours in solidarity,
Carole
Thank you for your support. Yes, we have a difficult situation now and the city is often under fire. But we hold out and continue to work. Unfortunately, I think that the Etsy team decided that my city is already an occupied territory and they closed us. Now this is the only source of income and I would not like to lose it because of this mistake.
Most likely it is because the are is now occupied by Russia. The only people that can directly answer this is Etsy.
@FabioMcMustache @ModAngie Would one of you be able to help this person please. Thank you.
@KasyBag: If you are referring to sanctions blocking, there is some information at https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/sanctions-policy/122383404929 These programs often use geolocation based on internet protocol (IP) address. If you are not actually in a sanctioned area, it is possible that your internet service provider is 'incorrectly' reporting your geolocation.
Yes, now we are studying the information and preparing a letter of appeal. But I am afraid that this will not work and the store will be closed. I do not know how to provide evidence that we are not in occupation.
Hello,
I have got the same issue.

This is an older thread and the Etsy moderators often close them, so you may want to start a new one.
