Black/White Tile? Try this fix...

I put up a new listing and got a black tile. I closed everything out and opened Etsy again. This time I got a white tile for the listing. I tried clearing my cache and even cleared my browser history. The picture to my new listing was still showing white. I went into my Etsy listing and changed the main picture to the listing, pressed save and that seemed to fix it. For those of you having this issue please let me know if you try this and if it works.

I was wondering if it was just a random thing or if this would fix the bug. I am glad it helped someone else! I just put up another new listing and the photo was fine.

I think you can get the same effect by just reuploading the image. The error seems to be intermittent which is more annoying because that means it can't easily be recreated/debugged/tested etc. I might be wrong. It makes no sense.

Random theory - maybe the Etsy server just can't cope with the sheer number of sellers uploading their POD photos and it's some sort of overload. That might account for the radomness, because it depends on how many uploads are being processed at the same time???

That's what I am thinking. I got the blank tile to go away by switching the main picture but wasn't sure if that was a fix or not. Probably random. It doesn't make sense at all.

What I did yesterday was reduce the size of the photo (it was in RAW format), reupload it and NOT use the thumbnail resize tool
