Beware of suspicious messages! Yesterday I received a strange message, luckily I saw it after shopping and didn't reply. When I wanted to reply an hour later, it turned out that the account had been deleted!

"Hello, I want to buy this product from you as I am satisfied with everything, but Etsy asks me for your @email to make payment, please give me your @email to buy this from you through Etsy, an order confirmation @email will be sent to your @email. Thank you"

You are correct. It is a scam. You do not have to provide your e-mail. The scam is going around like crazy right now.

It is definitely a scam and they were targeting new sellers more at first and now they seem to be trying to get everyone to fall for it. Be glad you didn't respond when you first saw it. There is multiple threads on it every day and you don't know how many others are getting that message that don't come to the forums about it.
