I keep on getting this message for the past few days when enter Etsy and try to navigate inside. I did try all suggestions - cleaned my cookies, restarted the modem and the computer. Nothing helps. It happens only in Etsy.
Check if you virus scanner and internet protection is up to date. Mine should be set to automatic but for some reason one had not updated and it affected only access to the Etsy websites, blocked it each time
@GraphiXapparelDesign : In addition to the advice from @CryzalisDesigns browser extensions can cause issues - Sale Samurai is often mentioned as a culprit.
@GraphiXapparelDesign I kept getting that this morning. I finally restarted my computer and now it's all fixed.
Thank you! I am getting the same error message. I will try restarting my computer.
i am getting the same message, i restarted my computer twice and took sales samari off of my extensions, still getting the message. Any other advice?
I have been getting this for a couple of days now - it comes and goes - I restarted my computer a few minutes ago and it took me about 5 tries to get back into the Forum.
What is Sales Samari and where do I find it in order to remove it?
Has Etsy addressed this problem at all? I can't search anything, can't go from page to page most of the time - it has been horrible - yesterday I ended up listing on eBay because Etsy was giving me such a hard time!
So glad that someone posted about this as I am trying to reach my computer guy because I thought it was my computer and I hadn't read anything in the forum.
Bear in mind, I am an old computer dummy - never heard of the sales samari so have no idea what it is or where to find it.
@mommawhazelsquilts: If you don't know what Sale Samurai is, chances are you have not installed that particular browser extension.
Does the Bad Request error message say "size of a request header field exceeds server limit"? One common cause of that is too many cookies being sent in the header - and Etsy leaves lots of them. The problem may be intermittent as cookies are deleted or expire. This may be even more noticeable if you log in and out of multiple shops using the same browser.
Thank you @BagmakerSupply
I do log in and out of multiple shops using the same browser...
However, I have been doing this for years and years and have NEVER had this problem before.
I am not computer savvy enough to use different browsers for logging in and it seems strange that all of a sudden, this would be a problem.
Any ideas on why all of a sudden or any other cause?
Thanks for the info about Sale Samurai - if my computer guy added it, where would I find it?
Sadly my computer guy can't come around...he has covid and hasn't been vaccinated.
PS: Between this and proving that I am not a robot I am about ready to SCREAM REAL LOUD!!!
I got that last week, I completely logged out of Etsy, shut my PC down and then did a restart. I then logged back into Etsy and have not seen that message since.
I’m getting it again and restarting my computer is not helping.
Join the club! Between proving that I am not a Moron (sorry, Robot) and this, eBay is looking better and better.
i'm getting it now also. Really annoying. I wonder if it has anything to do with the games i play (hearting) in the team activities?
I've been having this off and on for a month now on Chrome. It seems to happen nearly every time I try to edit a listing, though often it's just random. I have to clear my cache to access Etsy again every time it happens. Restarting my computer has done nothing to prevent it. It gets better for a couple days then will happen 20+ times in one day. The only extension I have is Adblock, but I don't use it on Etsy.
