"We make it easy to find your thing"? Well, once I finally find it your danged flop-down that appears when I hover anywhere near the upper right of the page, the thing blabbing about items in my cart with x on them, has caused me to LOSE my thing, many things. Multiple times.
Yeah. I just discovered why the items I carefully search for and lovingly place in my cart keep vanishing. I thought the xs (plural of x) were to make the flop-down go away. No - they deleted the items from my cart.
I'm steamed. Over the past few days I've been preparing orders for some projects and have put in at least 3 or 4 hours of work.
Why does Etsy not test all this annoying stuff on actual shoppers?
I'm sorry, that is frustrating. I don't use the Cart, so I haven't seen the flop down at the upper Right of page (so far). I'm using a desktop computer. I think today the Cart cleared though. An item of mine which was in quite a few carts, suddenly went back to being in no carts this evening. But other items which are in carts stayed the same (their number). So I think something is going on with that.
The exes - I didn't know they deleted items from my cart! I thought they were to make the danged flop-down go away
That may be why a seller sees an item is in 6 carts one day then in none the next. Irritated shoppers exed them away unknowingly!
@ChillwolfArt: "An item of mine which was in quite a few carts, suddenly went back to being in no carts this evening." The danger, for sellers, of the "x people have this in their cart" is that there is no information from Etsy of how current, how inclusive, or how accurate it is. I know that some of our items are in people's carts which do not show that on the listing. We should look at that number for what it is intended to be - a nudge to buy before it is too late.
@BagmakerSupply Agree, I actually never believe the "No. in cart". And when I see it on my items, I don't pay much attention to it. Although it proved me wrong about 4 times this year. But normally I don't get too excited about the cart.
Etsy is full of glitches that aren't being addressed, or avoided, by keeping up with maintenance, whatever it is. They are too busy coming up with more ridiculous useless ideas that no one needs!! I changed a price earlier which is on the listing when you click on it, but it still hasn't changed on my front page. I've repeated the edit three times, and it still isn't fixed so now that listing has two prices, until etsy feels like fixing the problem.
Update. It's finally fixed. For three hours I had one listing at two different prices.
There have been times when the pop up obscures what I am trying to look at. It is actually in the way.
