Hey everyone; just checking in to see if the problem has been fixed for anyone. I still have about 5-6 listings from February and March that have not been auto renewed. My count is correct as far as items in my shop tho. I've never noticed Etsy not to take their 20 cents out as soon as the date for auto renew is there.
If the items are still active, then don't worry about it.
I have one from Feb 28 2022. It's a free listing, so no complaints from me.
I have all Listings in another Shop set to "Manual Renew" and, believe it or not, as of today I have 160 Listings which should have expired and moved to "Inactive", between 30 Sept 2022 and today. I have lost count of the number of Support tickets I have raised asking for the obvious programming problem to be rectified, but no one seems overly concerned. There is always an issue with Feb 28/29 Renewals, but I wonder how many other Shops have a situation similar to mine?
I just looked and I have a bunch as well. The oldest one should have expired on Sept 29th 2022 and there are some for the 30th still active. So something happened or broke in renewal land in the last few days of September 2022. Pretty sure I did contact support about it a couple times last year and they didn't seem concerned at all so I stopped bothering. I haven't paid much attention since then as I normally just renew from expired but looking now, there are more than just the Sept 29th & 30th listings. There are some from 3 different dates in February and 1 from a couple of days ago. I don't think I have as many as you but I have at least 50 and a bunch set to expire yesterday but sometimes they lag a full day so not counting those until tomorrow in case they actually do expire later today. Oh and I have everything set to manual renewal.
@WitticismsRus Thanks for confirming my experience. For a long time I thought it was something I had done wrong!
I wonder how many of the really big Shops have a similar "problem" and they just do not realize it because they, like you and I, renew from "Inactive"?
The end of September seems to be when the issue began.
I did have a "Chat" session sometime last year and the "Chat" person asked me to send screenshots. 160 Screenshots!!!!
I asked them to look at the last 4 pages of Listings in my Shop and the answer was that they could not do this because their "system" was different to the one we use. I suggested they look at my Shop in a Browser and the reply was that this, also, was not possible.
So, The Sept Listings have now missed renewal in both September and January. 320 Renewals at least. 320 x 20 cents = $ 64.00 "lost" in Renewal fees from my "little" Shop alone!!
Occasionally, I'll have an item in Sold Out or Inactive because I am waiting for supplies to come in. Then when I get the supplies, POOF the product has disappeared off the face of the earth and I have to recreate a whole new product, losing all the previous history of sales and reviews.
I am having this same issue. I have over 1400 items supposedly active in my shop. Of these, over 280 have expired auto-renew dates -- but are still in my active file!!! I had this problem several months ago, and now it is still happening! My online chat seems to be frozen as well. Can anyone help with this? I don't want Etsy to deactivate all 282 and then have ME re-list them ($56) in one day. I can't seem to get Etsy technical support to understand what is happening! HELP!
@rust2retro: This has been reported on and off for quite some time. Basically you have listings up for free and are using Etsy's money. Yes, at some point you will have to pay those renewal fees but since undoubtedly you have already budgeted for those fees it is not costing you any more. In a practical sense Etsy is letting you use $56.00 of their money interest free.
