This bug was pointed out to me by another seller in Sydney...that my items were listed as dispatching from "iowa", his from "north carolina" - a potential buyer in Australia contacted him asking if he shipped to Australia!
I might have figured out what the problem was - Free shipping! - turned that all off, re did all the shipping profiles...... and back to normal "shipping from Austalia" - lets hope it stays that way!!
Make sense now why there have been next to no sales in 2 weeks compared to 5-10.
I contacted support via chat and the response was along the lines of "thank you for your feedback, we will pass on your ideas about the design of the site " ...I asked for the issue to be passed on to technical support........but dont hold your breath for things to change with this serious bug.

Unfortunately it's the domestic buyers that are seeing it wrong. Being in Australia, I hardly get any international orders anymore (thanks covid and very expensive shipping)

Sounds like the app has been rolled out without testing whilst the old one seemed ok
@SVGRox this is not the new blue app for sellers. This is happening on the standard orange app that buyers use, hence the 'panic' as most buyers use the app to purchase.
Sellers from Germany were reporting the same issues yesterday, even though their location was Germany, the app mentioned dispatches from different states in America

Exactly, I ship from Cyprus and it shows that I ship from Virginia US!!! Great!
This is definitely going to cause buyers to not purchase... Etsy has also used these US locations to estimate the delivery. Mine supposedly take a month. I've tried changing postcodes, changing shipping profiles - one with shipping charges and one free. Still shipping from Illinois instead of Perth : /
@SVGRox this is using the buyer app which is still the same ...not the new seller app.
@CryzalisDesigns possibly every country except the USA by the sound of it....it appears to have been happening for some time according to some buyers. ...but it is only just getting noticed. Imagine the outcry if U.S. Sellers were experiencing this issue in reverse.
this is the German sellers' thread on the same problem. Perhaps if we can gather all the info together, Etsy might be able to figure out what they did in the background to screw us ...
@AnniebelloPaper would you mind checking mine in your app? I am wondering if it is just affecting those with numbered postcodes (which Germany has), in the Netherlands we have numbers & letters
@CryzalisDesigns looks like you are in Amsterdam, shipping from The Netherlands ... all good.
while we have numbers for our postcodes, they are only 4 digits. The US ones are more. Go figure : (

Thank you @AnniebelloPaper , Germany has 5 numbers like the United States, so when I saw the posts yesterday, I thought the app is mixing up the postcodes, but like you said, Australia has 4 digits which would not relate to postcodes in the United States.. the app sure needs checking!

Just a suggestion in the event (most likely) that Etsy takes forever to fix this...
I have added wordage to the top of all my physical listings' descriptions, letting buyers know that there is a glitch with the mobile app and I will be shipping from Perth, Western Australia and not any US location. Easy enough to do in bulk with the editor, just add to the top of the listing description.
O awesome, I apparently only ship to Australia from Virginia! It really is one thing after another on this site. I will have to check my other shops to see if it's the same for all

@SpellbinderieToo I had a look at one of your items in the Etsy buyer app and it says "Delivers worldwide from France"

France only has numbered only postcodes, so not every country is affected
