***Please note - this is NOT the issue of attributes disappearing because Etsy got rid or sunset them***
I create new listings from "old" ones as my products are similar to one another. Yesterday I discovered that the Materials attribute in the "old" listings was blank, even though they were filled out correctly when I originally listed them (Glass and Copper - these are not new, they have been on the Materials list for a long time).
A chat with a customer support person got the following response: "From time to time, Etsy updates it's Categories and Attributes. This can lead to deleted information, and it is the sellers responsibility to manually check and correct any affected listing".
Once again, Etsy has made an update and it has DELETED CORRECT, ACCURATE, SELLER ENTERED DATA!!!!
Not acceptable! Sellers will have to spend time and energy adding back data they we already entered. The LEAST Etsy can do is:
1. Tell the Sellers!!! Etsy, when you let us find something like this on our own it's ten times worse than if you just admit it!!!
2. Provide the affected Sellers with a list of their current listings that need to be updated!!!
Please add to this thread if you find you have been affected. Check your older listing's attributes: if they are missing or blank and you know you did it right when you set it up AND you know it's not because Etsy got rid of that specific attribute please join in. Thank you!!
Hi - I posted this issue again. I can't figure out how to delete the one from yesterday. Thanks for responding.
I do think this is different than what you reported. This isn't due to new or sunset attributes.
I've not experienced this and I use copy mostly. I seldom create new. I've never had the materials area emptied.
I have had quite a few listing lately where I've had to 'add again' the same information And even some where I had to click 'show more attributes' to put all the information in.
Some of these listings had expired so I was just copying them to give a freshening up and saw a lot of missing information.
First ya 'twist' then ya 'turn', but never a 'stand still' moment!
@FatherandSonGlass Thanks for letting me know about the categories and attributes. What if there's thousands of listings in a shop?
