I've been adding new listings, and lately all my photos are coming in distinctly blurrier compared to listings I posted a few months ago. I saw other posts about this issue, but I don't see if there's been an actual fix or resolution. Is there anything I can do besides trial and error in manually adjusting the photos until they look bright enough.
Etsy compresses listing images upon upload to optimize page performance and load times, which can lead to a reduction in image sharpness and visual quality, especially on larger screens. To mitigate this ensure they are at least 2000px along the shortest edge.
It could be that Etsy has increased the compression in the last few months so that's why you are seeing a difference now compared to old listings.
Hey! Just ensure that the original picture is of great quality and has all the details. Also the format of your images may affect how they get compressed. Try out a couple of different extensions and see which ones come out the best. Lastly, never use screenshots of any kind (if you do) since that causes a lot of compression even before you add it to the listing. Always export the image with the best options possible. Not an expert, just a new seller going through similar things!
