I have contacted Etsy technical support several times as the App would not initially update in Google Play and I was advised several things to try including delete and reinstall the app. Still having problems and after doing everything that was advised and contacting them again as ongoing issues I have heard nothing at all. Advice on who else to contact who may actually respond would be really helpful.
I was having the same issue for the last week. I finally fixed it just now. Apparently the old "Sell on Etsy" app was still installed on my phone even though I have been using rhe "Etsy Seller" app since it came out.
So this is what I did.
1. Cleared the cache for the old Sell on Etsy app
2. Uninstalled the old Sell on Etsy app
3. Cleared cache for Google Play Store
4. Restarted my phone
5. Installed the current Etsy Seller app.
You might be able to get by with just uninstalling the old app & restarting you phone before installing the new app, but I've tried so many things over the last week that I wasn't skipping anything. I just happed to come across a post from someone right after the new app was first released that told me to make sure the old app wasn't still on my phone.

Could it be you have an older phone, or need to allow some permissions in your settings? What happens when you try to load it from the Google PLay store? Any messages? Do you have slow internet / wifi? And it worked OK for you before - I would think an update/reload would work.

Are you trying to update/install the correct seller app? The older one ("Sell on Etsy", orange icon) has been discontinued and is no longer supported. The newer one is "Etsy Seller", blue icon.
I am having the same issue. The Seller App said to update, it would not. Unfortunately, I uninstalled the app to try that route, and now it will not install. I have done everything there is that is suggested to do. Other apps install, so it is the ETSY Sellers App with the issue.
Ditto. Won't install the update. My phone keeps reminding me. I just figure this is typical etsy.
I had to remove the seller app from my phone as it stopped working (it told me it had stopped working) I tried reinstalling it but no luck. I think that some devices are just too old to be supported by the latest apps.

I'm having exactly the same issue. App needed an update but wouldn't update so uninstalled, now wont reinstall. Any help would be great.

This is not solved. My update would not install. Turn off, turn on, delete etsy apps. Now it won't reinstall. Looks like I'm not the only one having this problem.
I'm having the same problem and I had already uninstalled the old one. Started with Etsy App not updating so I uninstalled and now can't re-install.
Checked again and I have no etsy apps in my phone. Still nothing. It gets to 99% and says it can't install. Whatever. As much as I enjoy the cha-ching I got along fine without any app for many years.
Ahhh, I fixed it. My old app was still hiding on my phone, but not under my google playstore, so I couldn't see it.
Go to your phone settings and scroll down to Apps and you will find your old one there. Uninstall it and then the new one will work.
It took me 7 different times yesterday to finally reinstall the blue app, after trying all of the above suggestions several times.
I heard ATT&T was down for a while yesterday. Maybe that could have caused the problem.
