I have turned off all notifications except for when I recieve an order, someone convos me or leaves me a review, however I have recently begun to receive other notifications. I was fine with a single notification for tax season reminder but it is now becoming quite irritating, the other day I got 2 notifications in one day - I just recieved another QuickBooks advertisement and I have AGAIN checked that all notifications are turned off and they are. Why and how do I make it stop?
Same thing is happening to me
I don't get those ads, touch wood, but I do get admin forum posts, like community update. Also can't find where to get rid of it. Legally, shouldn't there be an unsubscribe button somewhere?
This is the latest notification I got, for this article. I reported the post as inappropriate content, as I am NOT signed up for notifications for stuff like this and they need to know what we are getting so they can turn it off. That's the only way I can think to bring it to their attention so they can fix it.

Those posts should NOT be push notifications on our phones, especially since we have no option to turn them off. That's ridiculous.
I just found this page. Fingers crossed I'm out now.

NOPE! MF'ers. Those posts are NOT push notification worthy and it's absolute BS that we can't turn them off.
Obviously I got another one today.
I assume checking turn off all push notifications or all mobile notifications will turn everything off, I can tell my phone to not send me Etsy notifications but I DO want sales, convo & review notifications, I do not want newsletter or quickbook notifications.
Actually, I think since the setting is in here, it is only turning off notifications from the forums (ones that were never push notifications before but suddenly are).
I feel pretty confident as long as you have those specific notifications turned on in the phone app, you will still get them. I turned off all push notifications in the forum settings yesterday, and I still got a push notification this morning that I had received a message. I haven't received any orders today so I can't confirm yet that I'm still getting those, but I feel pretty confident I will.
So I checked the box turn off all mobile notifications at this link:https://community.etsy.com/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-subscriptions:notification-settings
the same one that UppNorthEh posted above and then I got a sale that I did NOT get a notification for so it def turns off ALL mobile notifications not just newsletter and quickbooks notifications... so ... still no solution.
Yeah, I was noticing that while I was in there but it was kind of confusing so I wasn't sure! I will go back and check that and hopefully they stop - Thanks!
I get no forum notifications and never have. Under my settings > personal > email I have no email notifications checked. However I have started getting other random Etsy notifications I am not signed up for.
I think those random notifications you started getting are the forum notifications we are talking about here. The last one I got took me to the community newsletter here in the forums. I've been trying for the past couple months to figure out how to turn them off, since it clearly wasn't in the app notifications. There have been multiple posts, both here and on Reddit, of others also frustrated with them. Finding this setting here in the forum notifications seems like the best option so far for figuring out how to turn them off. Now it's just a waiting game to see if it works.
I have received a second message since turning off all push notifications, so so far I'm still getting those that I've actually turned on in the app notifications.
Neither do I as I have no email notifications checked but emails are not the issue here. I am getting these newsletter and quickbook sales push notifications in the Etsy ap on my phone.
This is probably a glitch and there is likely nothing you can do, besides making Etsy aware of it, until they fix it.
