Making sure we keep you informed on important updates is our top priority. That’s why we want to let you know about new requirements coming this year that will help protect our marketplace, reduce the risk of fraud, and meet evolving legal requirements. Over the next few months, we’ll be asking international sellers to verify their bank account details.
You may have seen that, in 2022, we asked sellers in the United States to verify their bank accounts. In 2023, we’re expanding to include international sellers.
If you need to verify your account details, you’ll receive an email from Etsy. This email will be sent from etsy@mail.etsy.com. It’ll give you step-by-step instructions for verifying your bank account in your Shop Manager. You’ve told us that it’s helpful to see important shop announcements in multiple places, so in addition to getting an email from Etsy, you’ll also see banners on your Shop Manager dashboard, your Payment account page, and in your Payment settings. To verify your account you’ll receive a small deposit to your bank account and will need to verify the amount in your Shop Manager.
If you opened your shop after November 2020, you may have already verified your bank details through the small deposit process while you were opening your shop. You won’t receive a notification from Etsy and there’s nothing else you need to do.
Please know that Etsy will never ask for your personal information via email. You’ll be directed to log in to your Shop Manager to make any changes, or you can start the verification process by clicking the button in the banner displayed in your Shop Manager.
You must verify your bank account within 30 days of being notified via email or Shop Manager or your deposits will be frozen until we can verify your bank account details.
