Hi. All of my photos in my shop have suddenly become too big. There is no way that I want to go and have to retake pictures of my 72 items that I have for sale. Is there a way to fix this without having to retake pics? I have already tried to adjust them with no luck. Help, Please!!!!
Etsy now uses square photos in shops. To make them square, they cut off the sides of rectangular pictures. The easiest way to remedy is to add white space at the top and bottom of your rectangular pictures to make them square. I used Photoshop. Maybe others have suggestions.
Months ago, etsy announced that the new thumbnails will be displayed in a square format. That's probably it. No need to take new photos, IMO. Once someone clicks on the photo, they will see your original crop.
The thumbnail looks fine, but after publishing the cropping appears. Really bad. You should be able to see the final result before publishing.
Two listings of Peeps (trademarked) is what I saw first.
Etsy switched to displaying uploaded photos in two different formats across the site. For instance: Square in search results, but still in landscape (rectangular) in listings.
For future reference, when photographing/cropping, leave some deadspace at left and right. Then when Etsy crops to square for display, the product won't be cut-off at left and right....

My photos look horrible since Etsy started doing this. All blurry until someone clicks on the listing and opens it. I can't change hundreds of pictures. I tried following their instructions for my new pictures but I can't figure out how to do it. I have just resigned myself to the fact that my store doesn't look pretty anymore.
