Adjust Thumbnail Glitch - Please help

Each time we make a new listing and adjust the thumbnail size and position, after published the positioning of the thumbnail doesn't stay. We have to re adjust it...the glitch starts all over again and this is a lot of time wasted. It will take about 5-6 times readjusting for the thumbnail position to stick. This has been happening now for over 6 months in our shop. And yes, we have an updated browser, our internet is high speed. I don't have any other issues on other sites but here which leads us to believe it's an Etsy glitch. Any insight on when this will be corrected? I've submitted a thread in the past with no replies. It truly becomes frustrating to have to continually try to adjust this...sometimes we just give up and list on our other sites, which we don't want to do. We have an inventory of 20,000+ photos to list and this glitch hinders that from happening.

Thumbnail behaviors seem to have gotten even worse, so I chatted with an agent again. They said they've escalated to their technical team and will follow up with me via email. I'll share any info they have.

Just adding more recent detail:

-- now when I go to edit the thumbnail, the preview screen compresses the image into a smaller format, aligned left, with a big white space to the right

-- three times now I've saved a thumbnail the way I wanted, then after two or three refreshes of the page, the thumbnail has changed

Not sure if this has been brought up yet or not, but now if I renew an old listing the photo is completely off center and it's not possible to adjust it. This might be a separate problem, but both involve the adjusting photos function.

Have to mention that this did not happen until they introduced the newer listing system. I liked the old one better for multiple reasons, the newer one doesn't seem like an improvement at all.

I received an email response from the Technical team and they stated that they are working on it and thanked me for sharing the screen shots, etc. of the issues I'm having. Those included having the listing image save as 'off-center', then when I go back into the listing, the listing photo showing up as having a large white section at the bottom of the image until I touch the zoom function, then the white box goes away and it will let me adjust the photo, but the pic still saves as off-centered. 

I will note that someone suggested to open back up the listing and delete your current photos and re-upload them - I have had mixed results with this. Hope it's fixed soon!

I'd be happy at this point if mine stuck after 4-5 tries or whatever some people can get away with. Mine just don't stay at all. It's ridiculous.

Mine are still all over the place! Occasionally it works after many attempts, but more often it never stays in place.

Not only have they not fixed any of the issues we've reported, some new ones are now showing up. In addition to thumbnail images shrinking and aligning left, now sometimes they are shrinking and aligning in the center, with white space above and below in the preview. None of the changes I make to thumbnail images save, and I often have to deactivate and come back. 

I think Etsy is just trolling us at this point because how difficult is it to have engineering take care of this? They put so much emphasis on the importance of good photos and thumbnails to attract customers and then they give us crap tools that don't work and waste our time.

I've spent almost an hour trying to fix images this morning rather than listing my new products. Imagine if they aggregate how many minutes of seller time has been wasted on this, and how much potential revenue they've lost because of it? Will that get them to help us?

I have had my vintage shop since 2012 and have never had an issue with my thumbnail photos.

All of a sudden the last few weeks I can't seem to get them right. I have to keep going in and adjusting, but it still doesn't work.

May appear to be a minor issue, but it makes your shop look unprofessional when your thumbnail is off.

This is now happening to me, I was nearly pulling my hair out this afternoon, as my adjustment would not stick. I also noticed in some listings, the thumbnail was aligning itself to the right side, and no matter how many times I tried to "fix" it, again, it would not stick using a browser on my Windows desktop and Apple iMac.

I could only get the thumbnail adjusted using the mobile app.

I've found that if you crop your primary image as square, and then adjust the thumbnail, it tends to stick.  Sometimes you have to adjust again, but cropping it seems to be the trick.

I am commenting to boost the post again. I feel like it is getting worse. I was able to crop them and then adjust and it was sticking, but they all shifted today after they had stuck for days. So strange! Maybe it is a sign that they are working on it. They ad photos in the app were defaulting to show the 2nd photo last week and they seemed to have fixed that. This is getting so frustrating!

This is such an annoying feature (after all this time you can't call it a glitch anymore, Etsy obviously can't or won't fix it and don't care that it costs us time). I expect it to continue being an annoying feature for eternity.

Thumbnails all not showing again the way they are saved, in the app search results. Resulting in full size images being shown as thumbnails in App search results.

Issue is ongoing since March and every time it happens, sales almost completely tank, I then check the app search and see the issue is back again.

Etsy is aware and I keep getting the same answer since March that this issue is being investigated

Isn't ironic how they force us to use a certain format because they say it will look better yet we can't get it to look nice in thumbs?  Is there a reason the format displays rectangular in listings, but square on the storefront?  Seems like that could be an issue right there.

TEMPORARY SOLUTION: Press 'Adjust Thumbnail', drag to the desired position, zoom in and apply that position. It should work if you move the image and zoom in. Then press 'Adjust Thumbnail' once more - this time, zoom out (if you didn't want to zoom in to begin with) and apply changes again. The preview should now show your desired position. Save.

It is a frustration I have when editing or creating listings. I've found it eventually works after several tries. Sometimes this has to be done an hour or even a day later.  There are also times the edit won't appear to have saved, but it will show up correctly later.  And occasionally, editing the thumbnail works as it should.   The issue is inconsistent.  I use square photos that are sized at 2000px.   I've tried using different browsers.  Nothing has helped and Etsy hasn't fixed the problem.  Listing has become time-consuming on Etsy due to errors on their side, so I'm doing them less often these days.
