Day 0 of zero bugs on Etsy.
I just refreshed my shop page and saw "+ Add to cart" buttons under each thumbnail. In my own shop. Interesting. I clicked, and it gave me a red sign: "There was a problem adding this to your cart. Try again."
Do you see the same?
I'm also seeing this in my shop, and no, it wasn't there before tonight. We can't buy our own products - why does Etsy want us to add our own items to a cart?
And just like others have reported for a week, my post just a few seconds ago didn't bump this thread up to the top. Does anything around here work?
I noticed it in my shop too.. probably another bad idea in the works
I noticed it yesterday. I think it looks too big and tacky and distracts from the photos.
I still have this in my shop this morning. It's clearly a bug since we can't buy our own listings.
I see it in other shops too, and agree that it looks tacky and desperate. Why does Etsy want buyers to add items to a cart without even reading the descriptions? This is a poorly thought out ploy to encourage last minute holiday sales, but most of the blow back will be on sellers so obviously it's not a problem for Etsy.
Yep .... tacky and desperate looking!
My Shop is On Vacation, and when I go to Shop Fronts, I'm currently not seeing "Add to Cart" under the thumbnail (desktop computer, Chrome). It's especially ridiculous that people are seeing this in their own Shop. I do remember in search results, the "Add to Cart" was there, so a Buyer could click it w/out reading the Description or anything else about the item. That never made sense either.
I'm using Chrome and I saw it in my shop and others under every thumbnail.
I do not like this.
Most of my items are variation based. They shouldn't be able to add anything to a cart until they have selected from the options, read the description, etc. They can't even see the whole title and I'm sure it's even harder on the app.
Obviously I can't add my own to see what a buyer sees and since my shops is on vacation for the holidays I can't check it by logging out and going private but I find this whole add to cart thing ridiculous.
I can roll with changes, been doing it for ecommerce since AOL but this change seems to invite the "smaller than expected" reviews, complaints and general dissatisfaction from buyers. They don't even need to look at the photos where many of us have put pertinent info since the description plays hide and seek.
Welp. Just another Wednesday at Etsy.
Sighs and hopes it's another test. One that fails miserably.
is it a temptation test I wonder?
click on it in your own store
and Etsy reprimands you
I truly hope it's a bug. But it's day 3, and the buttons are still there.
