Account was hacked and Fraud is being commited.

Jump to solution

Looks like someone hacked my site and change my deposit method, haven't received my last two deposits look like they have been diverted. Someone is stealing my money! Tried to update my deposit banking info but the system won't let me. Felt something fishy was going on because I received several unusually large orders within a couple of days. Send emails to Etsy support with no response after 4 days. Does anyone have any suggestions?

usually hackers change the email address and lock you out.

since you can get in to your account... put your shop on vacation mode until etsy sorts it out.

you need to change your password and set up 2 factor authorization and contact etsy right now

oh and change your payouts to once a month to stop the deposits.

They did lock me out. Luckily I got in now and probably won't be able to get in again. Did all the suggestions except the two-step verification won't work.

Change your password.  Cancel and refund any orders that haven't shipped.  The refunds should come from the scammer's account.  Put your store on vacation until you get it worked out.  Etsy probably won't be much help.

Change your password immediately. Then try to contact Etsy. It can take them up to 10 days to reply. If a call back number is available to you, use that. Only Etsy can help you with Finances.

Put your store on vacation in the meantime.

Run a virus scanner on your computer. If it is indeed hackers, they are probably on your computer, not Etsy. They may have planted a key logger or something like that from some nefarious website you visited or a link you clicked in an email.
