4.8 average rating, didn't get badge?

As far as I can tell the graphic says that 4.8 is the goal and it shows a big green checkmark in the box. Somehow I did not get the badge. Is there something I am not understanding as to what the average rating needs to be in order to get the badge?

I also have 100% in the other categories so I would have full star seller if not for the issue with ratings. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I wonder if it's a rounding issue, such as if the actual average is a 4.77 which for display purposes gets rounded up to a 4.8. Internally for the calculation it might require it to actually be 4.8 or higher without rounding.

I just checked the numbers for my current period which does average out to a 4.78. I would presume this is the issue but I would still like to get direct feedback from someone at etsy.

It can take 24 hours to update. Here is some additional info.

"The following may result in temporary or permanent disqualification from the program:

.your shop no longer meets the qualification criteria

.your shop has an overdue bill

.your account privileges were limited

.your account violated our Terms of Use, including and not limited to our Seller Policy

.we have reason to believe you attempted to falsely inflate your Star Seller stats

If your Star Seller badge was removed because of an overdue bill, you may be able to reinstate your Star Seller badge by paying your bill."

Thanks for the info. None of these apply unfortunately.

I will assume it is some kind of technicality similar to what is described here. Still frustrating with the lack of transparency.

Are you looking at the current review period or the previous review period? Previous review period is what's used to get the star or badges today. Current review period is for badges and stars on August 1. 

Did you also meet the # of sales and revenue minimums? You need to meet those first to even be eligible for the star or the individual badges.

My previous review period says I have 100% Message Response Rate, 4.8 average rating, and a 100% on-time shipping and tracking, but even though I met all three criteria I still did not receive Star seller for the month of July.

Yes it is true for the previous review period as well as the current.

I meet the sales minimums.

If you have met all the requirements then you both need to contact Etsy support directly.  I know the help center says to post here for star issues but they changed this to a peer to peer support forum a while ago so it's just us sellers here. You need to contact Etsy support.

How to contact etsy support for sellers

There is a direct link to the support ticket page in every shops shop manager - Just go to Shop manager > Community & help > Contact us

That will open the page to start a support ticket.

Once there select 'selling on etsy' then select issues.

Depending on the issue, they offer email, phone and/or chat support. Note that the phone support option recently changed to a request a call back system. There is no direct number sellers can call for etsy phone support. You can only request that they call you back.
You will need to click around a bit to get to the actual page with the contact options and at times it feels like endless maze loop of clicking and getting nowhere other than faq's that do not address your issues. You will need to get creative and click on options that may not match your issue completely. When you see 'I still need help' at the bottom of a page then click that....it will take you straight to the page with the available contact options.

Keep in mind that the phone support and live chat folks are just a call center and can only handle a limited list of issues. Everything outside of that they will bump up the support chain to someone who works for etsy proper to handle. Live chat and phone call back are only available sometimes it seems and the availability changes throughout the day.

Remember...the key is to click 'I still need help' when you see it.

I just chatted with support. They said it should update in 24 hours.

All of their responses seemed scripted so I'm not confident in the response.

Yes live chat and phone support are just a call center and both work from a script as I said above.  Email is the only way to get to an actual Etsy employee to help and those emails are often initially replied to by a scripted call center person.  Just keep replying that you still need help and you will eventually get someone who can help.

Thanks, I just reached out to support via chat and they are pushing my request up the chain now so we will see what happens next.

Could your badge have been permanently removed for making medical claims?

Have you received any emails indicating so?

Interesting, if it is a rounding issues then that is messed up because it literally gave me a nice work green mark at the bottom of my ratings so I thought I had it this month.

Mine updated the numbers this morning (97%, 4.9, 97%) and it didn't give me the review badge (despite it being listed as 4.9 average). As a result, no star seller either. Meet all requirements easily too. Very obnoxious.
