This is crazy. 27 captcha just to enter my account. Never had this happen before plus no contact from Etsy as to why. It smacks of intimidation by Etsy against this seller. IMO
Update: Our Engineering team has now confirmed that there are no site-wide issues with reCAPTCHA. If you still experience any issues on your end, consider trying the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Turn off your VPN, if you're using one.
2. Fully close/restart your internet browser.
3. Try a different browser instead.

It's getting ridiculous at times. Especially when you have more than one shop and you are trying to list new items. Right now in the Holiday season is not the time for this craziness. Half of the photos are too blurry, too dark, or even if you get the whole thing right (as in a bus covering all blocks) you don't get moved on.
I believe in security, but that's not what this is.
I've had that when captcha was first introduced. I have learned to look very carefully at each photo because even if a only a small piece is show ay of a bus then it counts. And one has to look at the new photos before it will accept.
Nuisance.
It's not Etsy. It's how captcha is set up to be used by the company that created it.
Perhaps one day Etsy will move on to another resource for security but it will be just as problematic.
And I only get captcha if there is a blip on my ISP, clean out cache and cookies or when I moved to a new device. Otherwise I may get it once in a great while.
@SurnamePro: "It smacks of intimidation by Etsy against this seller." reCaptcha merely returns a score and if the score is lower than the threshold the verification kicks in. Google does not disclose their magic formula but it undoubtedly includes such items as IP address history, browser changes / updates, and so on. There is a helpful article about it at https://datadome.co/bot-management-protection/how-does-recaptcha-work/
Do you by chance use a VPN? I have had issues with my VPN & Etsy being compatible at times. The same thing goes for other websites too. If I turn my VPN off, the issue is usually resolved.
ahh...your turn now...its such a time waste and so frustrating...especially when it would say that you had it wrong and had to do it again....and worse if you have more then one shop....I feared leaving one shop to check my other shop just knowing I would have to do the captcha all over again....eventually, at its own time, it stopped and what a relief....I think you have no choice but to do it ... take deep breaths to minimize the frustration...
@mailordervintage: One workaround when you have multiple shops is to open each shop in a different browser then you do not need to continually log out and log in. It also helps prevent some issues with cookie clashes.
thanks for the tip...maybe it will help someone else....I am still a real dunce with the computer ...
@mailordervintage @BagmakerSupply you can also open a second shop in incognito/private windows. I used to do this on my Chromebook when I had 2 shops.
Logged in for the second time today and it took 17 captcha images to get to my dashboard. Etsy you are targeting me and I hope others will document their experiences here so I can hand this off to my attorney.
I just leave my shop logged in on all devices so I only have to re-login periodically. I realize that is not possible if you share a home computer with several people, though.
3rd time today to log in and 11 captcha to complete just to go to the dashboard. Still no contact from Etsy as to why.
First login today (Nov 21) it took 4 captcha attempts to go to my dashboard. Never did this before. This is a repeated behavior by Etsy to intimidate this seller. Are they doing this to you too?
Hello,
We appreciate everyone's feedback, and since OP's question has already been addressed in detail, I'll go ahead and close this thread lest it goes off-topic.
Otherwise, I have raised this issue with our internal teams for review.
