We're opening the Conspire lawn to a few people this FF. This one time...and maybe next month, you don't have to be a member to set up. There would be a rental fee, and all sales would have to go inside. I dunno how it would be if one had a phx tax license -- it might be hard to make it clear that the anyone taking money at their booth was an exception and had a license!
So we'd do the books over Sunday, and issue the checks on Moday. Joey says he'll do it, and there will only be a few, so easy enough.
We're thinking of $40-50. As it is, membership at Conspire is $50, and volunteering , etc, is required, so the lawn set-up is reasonable. and no hassle with phx taxes & license fees! Conspire will handle all that. And you don't have to worry about credit cards..we can take that from your customers.
If anyone is interested, its a good way to test out your wares. Of course, every fair/venue is different. But it seems that the FF crowd likes variety...although photography doesn't seem to do too well. anything under $15 is the best, and sells easily.
You will need to provide everything -- we do have power, but you must use CFL bulbs, not incandescent.
Space is limited, and no guarantee of anything. However, I always cover my monthly membership, and more! I do clothes, so they are harder to sell.
Prime location on 5th & McKinley - to spot that used to be the heart of the of FF vending. We're glad they're not doing the whole thing like that any more...the crowds are different now, and not so crowded and crazy!
Depending on who's interested, and how many are, I'll have to pick and choose, based on what I think will do best, and work along side our members. So If a bunch of people are interested, please don't take it personally or anything -- we're just experimenting with a new mix, to see how it goes.
I want your success, as well as ours!
