Introduce yourself!

Hi, I'm Fran, the creator of this group. I'm currently taking a year out of my studies at Oxford Uni, UK. I've just opened my Etsy shop recently selling a few items of jewellery and some vintage stuff. I'm planning on specialising much more in the vintage items in the future, particularly old Noritake china as it's beautiful and collectable. My favourite thing about Etsy is that it's really easy to engage in the "community" aspect of it.

I'd love you to introduce yourselves and let me know what you particularly like about Etsy!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi, I'm a bit shy, but here I go with my best try. I'm Elizabeth and I do love tea. I am proud to say that I am a hopeless Anglophile
living in New Jersey and dreaming endlessly of visiting England and all of the UK. I love all things English, including "Tea", its customs,
the lovely china and beautiful linens, the tea itself, of course, and the idea of enjoying tea with family or friends, or making new friends.
I'm not an artist or shopkeeper on Etsy, but I absolutely LOVE it here. There are so many talented artisans and craftspeople of so many
beautiful things, that I can't go a day without visiting. Ok, without spending "hours" on Etsy :) I've met wonderful people here and have
purchased some of the most lovely things. I think I'll have to join an "Etsy Addicts" group :) I may even be voted President :) Stop by
to say hello any time! Lovely to be here!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi All, thank you for the invite - I love tea and that's what I like to sip when I'm doing my beadwork :) Love all kinds of old fashioned tea cups and china tea pots - still have to list some of my tea pots for sale in the coming months.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi there! I'm Elizabeth and I live in Solihull, UK. I'm originally from Washington State in the U.S. Am a British resident by marriage. ;-) I have always loved fine china, linens, silver, etc. I credit this love to my mother, who sadly passed away last month. She was always my mentor and inspiration when it came to design and beautiful things.
I do love tea and all that goes along with the ritual, however I am partial to really good coffee (blame my trips to Paris for that! Ha!). I love coffee sets...pots, cream jugs, sugars, demitasse cups and saucers.

I have been selling vintage items on Etsy while being a full time mom to my 18 month old son, Henry. He's a lovely terror! ;-)

Thanks for the invite to the group...am excited to share all things tea (or coffee) related!

Cheers!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello =). My name is Jessica and I am a tea addict hehe. Not really, but my boyfriend says I better start drinking all the different flavors of tea I have in the cabinet before I go out and buy more because I'm already taking up whole shelf lol. I work with a bunch of people from Pakistan so that doesn't really help with the whole tea preoccupation either. I absolutely delight in vintage and old-fashioned Victorian type items, and I do collect china and tea paraphernalia. To top it all off I'm a literature major and I'm just about to apply to graduate school -- specializing in British literature. So, I was pretty glad to find this team.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Thanks so much for the invite! I love drinking tea and collecting vintage china tea cups, dinner sets, etc. My intention was to sell them here on Etsy (I also have a vintage shop, Brown Eyed Rose Vintage), but I find myself falling in love with each new set I collect. I may be able to part with some of them eventually, but for now they bring a little color and inspiration to my studio.

I look forward to being part of this lovely team!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi all! I'm new to the group. I live in the lovely New England USA area. I have been doing mosaics for almost 10 years. I opened my Etsy shop last lear. I do about %50 of my mosaics as pique asset china mosaics and the remainder artsy (see my thubnail photo :).

I LOVE the French Country cottage style as well as "shabby chic", and Country cottage style. I have been to France and England mulitple times, which servs as the catalist for my "tea things" obsession. One of my best friends is a Britt who is an interior decorator with impeccable traditional and "cottage" decorating skills. I LOVE being on Etsy because of the variety of talent all on one site! I look forward to getting to know you all you lovely and interesting people!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi, thanks for the invite! My name is Laurie, I live in California and I do love tea in it's many forms. My Etsy store is still small, I have a lot more things (mainly tea cups, sugar/creamers, pots, plates, etc.) to list but haven't gotten in gear yet.
When I was 16, a friend (who's mom was from England) introduced me to a great Tea Shop and I was hooked on all the trappings, too. I am admittedly a bit of an Anglophile. Was planning on living in London for a while after college (had a possible job lined up), but life had different ideas. ;-)
Anyway, it's nice to find others who appreciate my beverage of choice!

PS I tend to make a lot of treasuries, so if people tag their items with a team tag I will be able to find them in a search more easily. Speaking of which, I should probably do the same...

Re: Introduce yourself!

So glad to know that I'm not the only person who is devoted to afternoon tea! It's one of my little luxuries to make proper afternoon tea, complete with scones and an outrageous tea cozy. I think it's because it reminds me of my grandmother, who was meticulous about afternoon tea every day, with fondant french fancies, and English Roses china. It's just so civilised.

However, life is not all tea and cake. I live in London, where things are too frantic to enjoy the finer things in life. But I dream of moving home to Edinburgh where life will be simpler and I imagine a life full of crafts and tea. In the meantime, I look forward to meeting lots of crafty, talented, tea appreciating people in this group :)

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi all! My name is Rebecca. I live in CT and have been a mosaic artist for almost 10 years. I too was a graphic designer (what's up Albert?? :) I worked at an advertising firm in NY until 3 days before my due date. After I had my daughter, I was planning on going back to work. However, I just couldn't bring myself to put her in day care. So I've been a stay-at-home mom for the past 3.5 years and loved every minute of it!

I started my mosaic business last July after friends encouraged me to try selling some of my work and now I do this full-time. I know I'm very lucky to have the freedom to try and make my custom mosaic business work (fortunately I have a very supportive and understanding husband).

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! Where in Sweden are you from Penny? And smellymonelly ( sorry, no name), I would give my left foot to be in London right now. It's been 4 years too long since my last visit.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for the invite.

We are The China Peacock, a mother a daughter duo based in London, UK. Our shop specialises in English vintage bone china, and we have a real soft spot for mis-matched tea trios!

We are great lovers of all things vintage, and are looking to connect with other vintage and china lovers here on Etsy. Although we joined Etsy back in March, our shop has only been open for one month, so we are fairly new to selling, and are still learning the ropes. But if you're looking for vintage china please check out our shop!

Lovely to meet you all, we look forward to getting to know the team and welcoming you at The China Peacock!

Hello All,

I live in the UK but I'm originally from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) so I MUST have my morning cup of tea. Lovely to meet you all and I will slowly check out all your shops. But, I only drink one type of tea - that's English breakfast :)

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi All!
My name's Michelle, I currently live in South Carolina with my husband and 16 year old step-son. I got my business degree two years ago and now I'm self employed and work full-time from home in advertising, and my Etsy shop is my hobby that I spent a LOT of time on. My shop specializes in vintage housewares and fun retro stuff. I've been working on tea cup candles for a while, which I'll be adding soon. I'm very much a coffee drinker, but I love the elegance and style of tea sets, tea cups, and all the fun accessories. I'm actually looking forward to getting to know all the shops in this team so I can get some real tea for myself to enjoy!
