I have been selling on Etsy since 2009. Fees have gone up tremendously, but I have noticed how I get charged for shipping at the end of the month for any sales, including Canada sales where shipping is very expensive. An example of an USA sale: a customer pays 7.00 for an item, about 4.00 for shipping. Etsy gives me 5.36 deposted in my bank account. At the end of the month, they will charge me that $4.00 shipping to pay...so my profit is $1.36. Etsy doesn't give you the shipping money to pay them in fees which makes sense, but I shouldn't be paying them shipping either.

Hi everyone! My name is Macy and I am the owner of Ray's Light Candle Co. I offer 100% soy wax handmade candles and wax melts. I make all of my candles and wax melts in North Carolina, USA. I started this business back in December of 2023 and have grown a huge following on TikTok. I have sold to 10 different states in the USA and to Canada and the UK. I primarily use Shopify to market all of my candles and wax melts ( www.rayslightcandleco.com ) but I decided to start marketing my candles and wax melts on Etsy after doing more social media research. I'm primarily looking for some advice on how to get started with Etsy and reaching a broader audience without having to spend so much money using Ads.
