Managing Inactive Listings

I'm often rotating inventory between my SD and Etsy site and also several galleries. When I want to inactive a listing on SD I change the status to "Hidden." I don't want to delete the item because I'll probably make more and want to list again on SD.

The problem is that on the dashboard's Product page all the active and hidden items are all mixed together. Yes, I can see which is which but if I just want to work with my active items I have to plow through everything to pick them out. There's not even a way to sort the list so that the hidden can be moved to the bottom. I wish we could somehow separate active and inactive items.

Right now I'm doing inventory and it's really a headache on SD. The product page is the only list with the quantity readily visible. Does anyone else who has inactive items have a better way of managing this?

Re: Managing Inactive Listings

You could make a collection for the hidden items and hide that too. Then they'd all be in one place. I did that when I imported my Etsy items over. I had an Etsy collection, not visible, with all the products (hidden) that still needed editing. I worked quite well.

Re: Managing Inactive Listings

Thanks for the idea, Tina. But I need to get the hidden (inactive) items off the products page so I can just work with the active items. The products page is the only list that shows quantity. I'm trying to do inventory. Any list for a collection doesn't show quantity. You have to call up the full editing page for each item to get quantity.

I do appreciate the suggestion!
