The tip I believe was helpful for me and would like to share is: Do not be afraid, too worried, or shy to ask for help from those you admire, family and friends.
Since I offer digital downloads my biggest effort toward increasing sales goes toward surprising customers with above and beyond service.
One practice of mine that gets the most compliments is my lifetime file update policy...meaning if I go back and spruce up a file, or add a new format, then I go through my orders and send a complimentary message to previous customers informing them of the changes that were made as well as a dropbox link to the new file set free of charge =D
I also offer a "new item discount" where if a customer PMs me and we end up creating a new item that I'd like to put up for sale in my store their commission price is half the price that I set for the store. So sometimes they can get a new file for as little at $0.50! It's been a great asset to my shop.
As a Communication Design graduate the best advice I can give would be to do research, give freebies to your customers, marketing and a well packaged product will work wonders for your profits! The Department Head of the program always said to the rest of his students, "At the end of the day our jobs were to communicate!" DO NOT be afraid of criticism! Continue to build on the positive and find ways to improve the negative. Be Blessed

My best tips are: join teams/promote & play the games/schedule your time,so you don't get overwhelmed/be persistent. If you're like me, it's taking time for people to find you and connect. That's when the selling, finally starts, I'm told.
