Social Media and Teams are extremely important. Half of my traffic comes from teams within Etsy, and the other half comes from social media.

You can look up charts that tell you what time to post on your social media accounts, based on the amount of active users online at that time.

Also be sure to put yourself in the buyer's shoes when tagging your items. Use relevant words that apply! Be sure to use all your tags.

Improve your picture quality, better tags, and reaching out by joining teams, and participating gives you exposure and getting discovered, its a bonus. I just keep positive and keep going. It is a work in progress.....

When putting together keywords you have to break it down into primary and secondary qualities of the product. Example: primary would be BLUE and secondary would be CHEVRON. I always make the color the primary because it is the most searched. I use the primary keyword as the first word of my title followed by the name of the product. The secondary keyword is going to go at the end of my title and is only informative for the customer after clicking on your listing. When creating the tags I use the primary search term as the prefix for all of the tags except one - which will get the secondary. Example from my shop: BLUE IPAD CASE BLUE IPAD MINI CASE...........CHEVRON IPAD CASE. I have also discovered thru trial and error that if you capitalize your keywords they appear ahead of other listings with similar keywords. Hope this helps!

Can't really say. Not had enough success yet to be giving any advice. I'm probably doing everything wrong to gain traffic although I have found that as I have kept listing new stock my traffic has increased month on month so far. Just want this to convert to sales - lots to do

Posting new items regularly seems to boost site traffic for me. But having your description and keywords/tags seems to be the dominant factor in appearing in search results. Etsy and Google search engines do not work the same way. I have a Pinterest board that has a lot of good information for Etsy shop owners. Although not qualified to give advice I can say that I'm constantly working on my photos, tags and utilizing the teams. Recently I found that all the tags from 6 items had dropped into the ether so I had to renew them all which gave me a chance to review all tags. Also some shops do not have any profile or story. I think the background of the product is getting more and more important in this very e-commercial world.

Thank you everyone, this was very helpful. For me, I would say that the first three years, I didn't do much on here. I still had my outside job but this last year, is when all my sales happened. I go involved in teams, made treasuries, pinned on Pinterest and ran specials. It seems the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. :)
