We thought everyone could benefit from hearing about places across the internet where you can submit your Etsy listings and also places where you can garner links to your Etsy store or blog. After all, we are all about widely distributing your listings and growing your sales as much as possible.
We’ll update this list from time to time so you can chip away at building your online presence.
In no particular order:
*** Submit Listings to EtsyLush
This site hand-checks submissions for quality and allows up to one submission every 24 hours. Etsy Lush has 10,000 monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to CraftJuice
This site has a little twist – if your submission gets 5+ votes within 10 days then it can appear on their home page and they’ll tweet it to their 5,000+ Twitter followers and they’ll also post it to their 1,000+ Facebook followers. And if you get even more votes it gets priority throughout their site. So grab some friends and have ‘em vote for your item. CraftJuice has 14,000 monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to Make and Takes
Make and Takes is all about kid crafts, home projects and recipes. Marie, the founder, has created a Spotlight section where you can submit related items that are a make and take. Make and Takes has 122,000 monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to Twitter
You can tweet your listings including a picture of your item. Be sure to include a link to your listing and tag it with hashtags such as #Etsy. The hashtag enables anyone searching for Etsy items to find your Tweet and the picture enables them to see your item right on Twitter. Twitter has 38 million monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to Pinterest
This submission takes a little more effort than simply “submitting.” Pinterest is a community site where you curate images from all over the web and those images can include your Etsy listings. The site requires an invitation. You can request an account from Pinterest (they typically approve it in about a week) or a Pinterest member can invite you. Once you are a member you’ll want to curate pin boards which can include a blend of your items among the other images you curate. The better your images, the more people will re-pin your item into their boards; so if you have a really cool image it can go a little viral on Pinterest. Pinterest has 4.6 million monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to Your Tumblr
Part micro-blog and part self-expression platform, Tumblr offers you the chance to create a following and have your posts re-posted by others. Similar to Pinterest, great images can get a little viral on Tumblr. Tumblr has 17.4 million monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to We Heart It
We Heart It is similar to Pinterest. Heart things you like, including some of your listings in the mix. Don’t forget to put a link to your shop in your profile page. We Heart It has 1.4 million monthly visitors.
*** Submit Listings to Your Facebook & Your Blog
OK, kind of obvious but deserving of a mention here. For these two venues, we recommend not simply blasting your listings, but instead turning your listings into more of a story. Make it personal. Post pictures of you in your workshop making the items, pictures of the project at various stages, pictures of your item on display at interesting places like art galleries or art shows and additional pictures of your item beyond the ones with your Etsy listing. Just remember, whatever you do, make it interesting. Your artisan story is what people want to see and hear.
*** List Your Blog in the Handmadeology Blog Directory
This terrific site is a super supporter of Etsy sellers and they’ve set up a listing directory for your blog. Handmadeology has 18,800 monthly visitors.
*** List Your Blog in the Technorati Blog Directory
This is one of the most important blog directories on the internet. They have 561,000 monthly visitors.
