First, thanks to all teammates who submitted suggestions for the catalog. Your ideas were both helpful and inspirational.

Now we’d like to ask all teammates to take a few moments to help promote it for the benefit of everyone.

**** The absolute most powerful thing you can do is post a full copy of the PDF on your blog (there’s a great example of this at http://taylorcrafts.wordpress.com/2011/11/15/stylishhome-catalog/).

Why post the PDF and not just a link? A blog post with a link to the catalog is great, but it’s just a single link to the catalog alone. Posting the PDF creates direct links to ALL the stores and items featured in the catalog. It’s vastly more powerful.

If you don’t have a blog or can’t post the PDF, don’t worry, there are plenty of other ways you can help:

**** We’ll start by curating the second edition to Storify.com, which means we'll be crafting a story about it from the mentions team members make of it on their Twitter, Facebook, blogs and Google+. This will in turn create a link from Storify to EVERYONE who promotes the second edition. Pretty awesome, right? Here’s an example of the last one we did: storify.com/StylishHome. This is also a great way to generate links to your own accounts at Twitter, Facebook and your blog. It should be fun to see all the activity. And don’t forget StumbleUpon, DIGG, Pinterest, or wherever you have presence.

**** Tell people you were featured (generally all teammates have been featured in a past catalog or on StylishHome.com) by placing the new “Featured on StylishHome,” badge on your blog. Just go to http://www.stylishhome.com/Welcome-StylishHome, scroll down to “Grab a Badge” and copy and paste the html code highlighted below it right to your blog.

**** We’re Working for You ****
StylishHome will be doing active outreach to promote the catalog including:

** Outreach to Etsy and artisan resource sites such as EverythingEtsy and QueensofVintage.
** Outreach to over 50 high visibility sites such as Craftgossip, SFGirlbyBay and Remodelaholic.
** Convos to all the featured artisans in the catalog asking for their support.
** We’ll Storify your social and blog mentions.
** We’ll socialize it ourselves (by the way, be sure to follow us at https://twitter.com/StylishHomeTeam)

Remember, it’s a team effort, so even if you don’t have a featured item in this edition of the catalog, by promoting it you’re helping drive traffic to our team “store” at http://www.etsy.com/people/StylishHome/favorites?type=shops&ref=pr_faveshops_more. There’s a link in the catalog to this store where all teammates are listed. And hey, it’s also good karma for when you’re in a future catalog …

Although I'm not a featured shop, I really like the concept and I'm happy to share this publication with my networks. Yes indeed, Lois is a rockstar!

Hmmm... as for the badge code, I'm not sure why it didn't work for some folks. It is stripped down and very basic html so it really should have worked. We have successfully tested it on WordPress and Blogspot. However on blogspot we noticed that on the old admin interface it spit out an error code when we tried to post it. When we used their new interface it also gave us an error message but it also had an option to "ignore and post anyway" (or something similar). When we clicked on the ignore and post anyway link it posted it just fine. Not sure why blogspot would do that since, again, it is just simple and basic html. Every blogging platform is different. For example in WordPress you have to put the code into a sidebar widget. Let us know when you run into problems with it and we'll do our best to address it and help you out

I was trying to copy the featured on Stylish Home code in a gadget in Blogspot. i pulled up the edit and picked add a gadget and picked the one where you can add HTML code. It doesn't show up on my blog. So I just saved the pic and put in a gadget for pics. However, I don't think it will link up.

@twistedsticks - thanks for the effort. Strange since is simple and clean html with no java script or anything. Like we mentioned previously, for our own blogspot test blog we had to click on the override link in the error message. This was done in their newest interface; the old interface just wouldn't accept the code. Believe me, we tried several version of the code trying. It is possible that certain templates just don't like it.
