Hello! My sign shop on etsy is called Authentic Signs! I am currently selling aluminum signs with vinyl graphics applied. All of my designs are original or spinoffs on real signs you see in everyday life. Other signs I sell are miniature versions of real traffic and safety signs. Some of my graphic elements are hand drawn and then re-drawn on the computer. Often, I just get my pen tool out on the computer and just start drawing away.

I am currently experimenting with some new signs that I will release later here on etsy that are hand painted and stained. All of the signs are made from reclaimed pallet wood that I have been cutting down into sign blanks.

I noticed there was no team for sign makers & sign admirers so I wanted to start one here on Etsy. I make all of my signs at home and hope to grow my etsy business. I am looking forward to networking and meeting other sign makers!

You can introduce yourself here! Please try and favorite all the shops you find on here!

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi, I'm Nancy from sunny Florida. I started my Nature's Glow business as a candle maker many years ago but also enjoyed floral arranging. Eventually we added sign making to the creative mix. My husband, George, helps with the wood cutting, and somehow we seem to enjoy making signs the most. We love a combination of country, rustic and nautical themes!

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi Y'all my name is Shawn Whaling,
I am the owner of Thechocolatechicken2.etsy.com Rustic Farmhouse Signs and thechocolatechicken.etsy.com Bath and Beauty essentials.

I grew up in a small mountain rancher’s community in Colorado where I learned how to use the resources around me, not waste anything, and work hard. It taught me so much more than just how to preserve and prepare everything under the sun, but also how to appreciate the little things, and not take a single moment for granted.

Now that I’m a grown woman with a family of my own, I’m passing down all those principles to the next generation. Work hard. Be kind. Say please and thank you. Everything you’d expect from a good, God-fearing family. So Etsy is a fine way for me to use a resource for the better good of my home. I started making soap as a hobby and soon enough the house was full of it. I was giving it away to everyone and their cousin. And then my husband and I realized that if I could sell eggs from my chickens, I could sell soap from my cupboard. No need to give it all away, though I still do to the folks I love.
Now my other hobby is Farmhouse Decor Signs. Each Rustic Farmhouse sign we make are one-of-a-kind, due to the nature of the wood and the distressed finish. We only use reclaimed wood. Our goal is to use wood that has been discarded and is no longer used. We find the wood grain, nail holes, knots, and cracks add to the simplicity and character of the sign.
We try to keep the natural character of the wood. No two pieces are ever the same - wood, notches and distressing vary from each sign.

We are open for business...Stop by and check us out. I look forward getting to know ya.

Hello, My name is Lisa and I am currently getting back into Etsy. I used to own a craft shop that catered more to primitives. Over time I learned that my love was making wooden frames and signs. My shop LZSignhouse is about to go live in a few days. I make all my frames and hand paint all my signs. I love the rustic farmhouse look. I am from Lititz,PA and say Hello to all!

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone! I'm actually a Graphic Designer, but I really love traditional painting and crafting on the side.

I started painting some signs (due to my love of typography) and i've done a couple craft shows so far. The one thing I'm struggling with is that all of the signs I make are not stenciled and they are completely hand drawn. Due to that, they take some time. I don't want to mark my prices too high and I also don't want to undersell my work. So i'm curious how everyone else does things. Is it worth it to do things that way or should I just start making my own stencils to save time? Right now every single one I make is the only one of it's kind.

I joined a couple weeks ago but haven't made a sale yet on here yet, so any tips on getting more people to find my shop would be greatly appreciated.

I'm brand new to all of this Etsy stuff so any advice at all would be amazing, I have a lot to learn so go easy on me please!

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi all,

I have always had a love for woodworking. We purchased our laser about a year ago with my husband intentions of doing team tumblers for his hockey program. Well, I have pretty much taken it over as I do laser engraved signs. I love creating my own signs as well as using SVG files that I purchase from etsy sellers.

Cant wait to get to know everyone better.

Thanks

Hi Everyone. I make and sell hand painted signs, mostly from reclaimed pallets or fences. I opened my shop in April of 2017 but I've only had 4 sales so far. Hoping to gain some insight and get critiques on my shop.
Thanks

Re: Introduce Yourself

I had to join the sign shop!!! Happy to be here.

I started my shop this summer, and I am slowly but surely starting to see some success. I work with stained wood and spray paint primarily, and I make all kinds of signs, runners racks, and 3 paneled wooden wall decor. I'm from Ohio, and a lot of my work revolves around Ohio athletics, colleges, etc. I only have about 25 items listed, and a lot of my pieces I've found have just served as inspiration for someone to request a custom piece.

I'm still brand new to this, and I am open to any advice, comments, or constructive criticism. I could use some help with marketing tips. Currently I'm using Facebook and Instagram.

Happy selling everyone!!
