lots of views, few sales

hello,
My shop is new on etsy, in a copple of weeks it has had lots of views and a few sales.
Is this normal in the beginning? How can I increase sale?
Should I use the etsy ads?

Hi Valerie! I'm having the same issue. I'm also new to Etsy and I'm learning that it's quite common to take a couple of weeks before selling begins. You've gotten a couple of sales already, so it looks like a good start to me! Your items are gorgeous! I'm sure you'll do well. Hello! I have been around since last July,and have gotten around 2,000 views and around 100 favorites, but NO SALES. Not a single one. Could you tell me why? :(

Hi Courtney,

I am fairly new. I have only had a few sales. Just by taking a look at your shop and listings. I would suggest taking better photos: clear crisp and strong. Your photos look a bit blurry and grainy. Perhaps make a few adjustments on your banner, more clear and bright. I suggest making your own light box and using a good digital camera and using nice soft window light. I know that good keywords are key. I am still working on that myself. There are tons of articles on here and the web that might help. I myself also need to start a blog. So that might be of help too. It's a lot of work and just don't give up, I am learning it's trial and error to see what works and what doesn't. I hope I helped some. Take care and good luck!

I too have been on Etsy for a feww months now. I think my items are nice and priced good but I have no buyers. I don't understand why. any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hi Courtney,
I looked at your site and I can tell you from my past experience that having more items in your shop get more sales. It's kind of like going to a craft shop. If you see a table with just a few items, we usually will pass by but if you see a shop with a lot of items, we are more likely to stop in for awhile to see what catches our eye. It is a phase... I am having the same experience. Funny that all my sales ( not a lot so far) happened when I was having few views. Hang in there : )

Sounding like a common theme, but again views and no sales, except for family. Getting frustrated. Any advice???

Hate it that it doesn't go that smooth ...
