What is wrong with my shop? I have less than 5 views per day. :(

Hi,

I really need someone help to have a look at my shop and maybe point out a direction to improve. I opened the shop 1-2 weeks ago and it gets less than 2-4 views per day.

I tried to improve the pictures, the item descriptions, and put a lot of efforts to SEO. When I search in Etsy using the keywords I chose, e.g. plush pillow, my items appear within 3 pages. I promoted my listings and the click rate is only 1 click per 140 impressions. (and it seems to get worse, more than 200 impressions with 0 click ..)

Is it because of my prices are not proper? or the pictures are not attractive enough? or my SEO keywords are not good/not describing my products? or some other reasons that I couldn't see?

Any opinions or suggestions will be very appreciated!

The only thing I can think of is that they are a bit washed out the photos, they need to be more crisp, rather than greyish. The colours are so cool and bright try and make the photos so that those colours pop more.

I took another look and maybe you need a different colour background like the blue in the last photo or green, yellow, ? and more items would also be good

I try really hard not to obsess over views and why someone clicked away. I got way too obsessed with it, and it upset me! You are not doing anything wrong - your shop is really cute :) If I were you, I would aim for more products (ultimately around 100) and join teams to get your product noticed and out there :)

I agree, I think your shop looks great. I like your photo quality and the descriptions, and you give great detail on how your items are made. It looks very professional. Perhaps your audience just has not found you yet. I would also suggest marketing on social media and even starting a blog, esp. since your items have stories. This may help more people find you.

Like the others have said, your shop is great visually. I did notice in your announcement that you say "A Magic Mango Toy is only a toy. It's a tale, a journey, and an inspiration. " I'm fairly certain you meant to say "is not only a toy." Right?

My thought would be to increase the amount of products you offer, which should boost your views and favorites.

That's exactly what happens, I'm overly obsessed, checking how many views I've gotten quite a number of times a day. Thank you for the kind words. It does encourage and relaxed me some. As you said, probably I should come out of this 'box' and focus more on promoting.

I did join some teams, put my items on the promotion, or have those post 1 favorite 10 sort of thing. But I'm not very confident about how this may really help, it's not real promoting is it?

Or are there some other different types of teams I shall join?

Thank you very much for your encouraging words, it gives me back some confidence on my products and what I've put so much effort into. Yes, I will start to do the social media thing soon. I also have a blog (with one post only) for the toys' trips, but it's on my own website. Probably I shall figure out a way to get it out.

After reading the positive comments, I was determined to "find something amiss" with yr shop and...could not! You create adorable items, tags seem right on, photos are crisp for the most part and I personally enjoy the narrative. Do participate in yr teams as much as possible, try putting together Treasuries (they are fun and team members will see your name). I thought pricing was a bit high until I realized what a simple stuffed animal costs! Don't get discouraged...that's the mos t important thing in Sales.

I read the other comments and have a few thoughts to add:

- Why are the toys so unhappy or evil? There is only one who is smiling, and the smile is very small. Maybe a few other toys that add variety to your line and choices for the buyer. I would look around at your top competitors and consider the variety of choices they offer. You don't want to copy them, but they have already found the niche in the market and are making sales.

- Your Evil Cat description appears to start out with keywords. That is probably not helping. If you feel that is important, maybe move it to the bottom. It's important to quickly grab the buyer's attention and interest. I have always read on Etsy help sites that you need to help the customer imagine your creation being used by them, creating motivation to buy.

All of us have a long way to go before we optimize our sites, including me. Hope this helps and I also hope that Evil Cat does not show up in my dreams tonight.......!

I think you're doing all of the right things. The thing that I've found with Etsy is it takes time.

I like to follow the people that favourite things in my shop to see what else they like. This means not joining those promotion teams, but following genuine people who genuinely like your products. It's good market research. This can give me ideas to find out what else I can put in my shop. The more variety that you can have in your shop the more choice people can have to buy things.

When I look at your shop it reminds me of nursery décor, or children's rooms. So maybe you could make things to accompany your item, like blankets and cushions.

Hey Qing,

I think your items are cute and your photos are fine. Something that I learned when I posted in here for a critique was how to title your listings.

Worry less about "creative" titles, and always use as many of the letters that you're allowed to use in the titles.

Be descriptive and use search terms, and even repeat your SEO keywords.

For example, instead of (just a random example) "magical blue faerie seductress doll", I would title it more like "Faerie doll Blue faerie Doll Seductress doll" and so on.

I started out with nicer sounding listing titles, but found that once I changed them to include more search phrases, I started to get a lot more views- and sales.

I recommend building an audience on social media. I have had a lot of success on Instagram, and I can see that my views on a certain item will spike if I post about that very item.
